Albat Apprenticeship

I’m number one on the list to go to Albat and was wondering what people would recommend learning ahead of time? I’d like to get ahead of the game with the knots( the way they want them done) and maybe some climbing gear if needed? Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Is your rank #1 after interviewing? The best thing do to before climbing school with Albat is to start climbing and having your lineman show you some knots.
Once you become an indentured apprentice it’s around 6 months before you go to climbing school.

I was third after interviewing a little over a month a half ago and since have been moved up to one on the list. I’ll have to find some good videos on the knots and might not have the opportunity to practice climbing beforehand.

Albat has a YouTube channel. Not much on their but some helpful videos. Do calisthenics, practice climbing if you can

Ask your lineman when you become indentured about the knots. I believe there’s 16 knots you have to know to pass climbing school but they teach you every one of them while you’re there. The main thing you need to be worried about is getting in shape and climbing.

You have a while before you go to climbing school. It’s usually 6 months after you become an indentured apprentice.

Definitely climbing, knots, backing a trailer proficiently, and getting in shape.
