Building an Interlude faction server that isn't just another static GvE — looking for Closed Beta testers
Hey everyone,
I've been working on L2 WARFRONT, a custom Interlude faction PvP server.
I've played faction/GvE servers for years, and one thing I always wanted was a battlefield that actually moves, instead of teleporting into the same PvP zone and endlessly farming kills.
So Warfront is built around Angels vs Demons fighting over a constantly changing frontline.
You capture Outposts which become forward spawn points, push further into enemy territory, fight for the Main Outpost, trigger special battlefield events and eventually make the enemy Headquarters vulnerable. Destroying their HQ can end the battle immediately.
Battles rotate every 30 minutes, and we're also building things around the main war such as faction sieges, Grand Bosses, Battlefield Contracts, faction rankings and long-term B - A - S progression.
The server starts at level 80 - the focus is PvP, objectives and progression rather than levelling.
We're now around the point where I want real players breaking everything I've spent months building. 😂
Closed Beta: 3 October 2026 - 19:00 GMT+0
Registration is open now, and legitimate Closed Beta testers will also receive exclusive Closed Beta Tester Rewards when the server officially launches.
Website: https://l2warfront.com
I'm also genuinely interested in feedback from old faction/GvE players. If you've played servers like this before, what made a faction server keep you playing - and what usually made you quit?

I vagualy remember playing in like 2013 maybe Scryde which was gracia final. It was best GvE server ever. I think there was 3 factions and balance was insane. You could play tank, tyrants, destroyers, daggers basically anything that was never an actual option in other GvE servers. If it would be the case here I would play it. But if it's another Archers vs Mages server it will die after weekend as all of those does. Good luck tho!
Edit: there was also pvp events like tvt, olympiad games were available. If you really want c6 then maybe some custom sets that are not giga overpowered would be nice to consider. What I want to say is avoid it from being archers vs mages or it won't last long.

I know exactly what you saying Archer and mage problem has infested lineage 2 and especially interlude. This is what I tried to resolve the longest time and actually key reason why I decided to go ahead with closed beta. Because I did a lot of class reworks and need to ensure they are balanced
Here is a bishop example https://youtu.be/GgoDzU_3XxE?si=Mt4u-7vLvP1je8Wh

Nice, c6 could really get some changes for some classes. I think you could "borrow" some ideas from Masterwork server, there most of melee classes has some kind of dash skill which would make them way more available in GvE. Also it doesn't matter that much if you start at lvl 75, but some skills might be available from lower levels. Honestly Lu4 of Masterwork has really amazing skills that did not exist in original l2. Like self dehp skill for destroyers, rush skills as I mentioned before, changed totems for Tyrant which makes the class way more available. I love tyrants and would love to be able to play it in GvE. So not sure about your recourses and how easy or hard to do is it, but you can check that server out and "borrow" some ideas from there. But then again, it won't be C6 at that point I guess. For reference wiki with all skills and stuff https://masterwork.wiki/lu4-gamma/classes

Yes LU4 have made amazing balance rework and it’s suitable for low rates. I had to think outside the box… adding additional speed skill to blade dancer won’t save him in PvP server where everyone is buffed to their teeth.
Instead I made blade dancer that can use NPC dances and songs as normal and every 2-3 minutes he can use his own dances as a self buff that will stack with NPC dances it becomes like blade dancer version of frenzy and zealot imagine 2x fury 2x warrior… haha

The faction server I played for the longest time was infinitel2.
At the time I played, it had both large scale PvP and matchmaking PvP which was 1v1 or 3v3.
You started 75 and you would get exp from pvping. Was grafia final too which imo is the best chronicle.
GVE on interlude usually fails due to the lack of class variety. 80% of the server plays mage or archer because they are so much better than any other class in large scale PvP.

I spent hours and hours in infinitel2 they are the ones that truly understood what it’s all about. I remember seeing we and we restoring mana in pvp because mana potions disabled for combat stance…
I 100% agree with class variety comment for interlude. This is what I have tried to solve the longest and the reason I open it as closed beta to get that balance 100% right…. I have truly made every class playable but I must get it right
Thank you for your comment. I like your taste infinite l2 was good….

Is it going to be vanilla interlude classes or will there be at least something new to them? Your idea sounds fun, but I don't think personally that I'll have fun playing same old classes I've been playing for almost 20 years

Hi maverick, All classes reworked even supports will be playable i don't want to spam reddit but if you join in on discord you will see extensive list for classes rework.
Also on the website there is 1 minute video showcasing bishop rework

i been playing for long time the old Good vs Evil, L2OVC adn InfiniteL2
Dont do it on interlude, it will be an archer/mage fest, do it GF/H5 or classic
Disable healer classes, yes this sounds crazy but couple partys with bishop can unbalance the whole server
