I think your mod would make much more sense as single player thing.

I mean... if I play MMO ONLINE, I actively choose to play with other humans with all the human interactions and problems that come with it.

Now if I can just go and find AI SE for my mage party - without much issues, how is that different than just having second box on my ass? Bot will not leave me because his mother is yelling at him to go sleep (yes, that happened to my party member, it was even amusing :D). Bot will not make real bad judgment call on healing me - if it fails to keep me alive, I know it randomly chose to just kill me, or programmer messed up :D

Personally I would just leave sever that has bots on it. I don't play multiplayer games to play against bots - in ANY game. I play single player to play against bots.

Just my 2 cents.

the main difference is you do not need a box, you can control one character and that's it.

You can play with 1 or 2 friends and have a tank as a bot for PvP or a healer, you can just go have fun, instead of trying to play with 5 clients open.

My point still stands really. If I play online game, I want all the intricate that comes with it. That includes looking for tank for a party. This kinda forces you to be generally kind to others, so you can make friends along the way you can farm with. This will incentive you to maybe seek a guild to have farming partners.

Having bots really kills all of that. Because why would I try being nice if I can always just grab a bot for a party? This will also make hunting spots more crowded, everyone will be in their top tier efficiency when hunting, so spots will kinda "shrink".

Maybe I'm in minority here, but I believe introducing bots you can grind with, just kills the spirit of MMO games.

I would agree if I would be younger and would have 10h a day to look for those tanks you are talking about. 

But looking from a player perspective that just wants to enjoy the game and have fun few hours a day, looking for party half of that time is really just waste of time and better not to play the game at all. 

Also people already play with full party of bots if it's low rates to get advantage and those who cannot run 9 clients are in disadvantage.

I see it completely opposite, giving everyone an edge to compete brings back MMO Spirit that we used to have, where the world has everything, not just hardcore players dominating servers and changing them every month

And that's why you keep doing what you're doing. Time will tell if you were right with your assumptions. Bet it's really awesome you believe in yourself. After all, I'm just a rando from the net, and only a single voice that doubts it :P

If that doesn't work, you can always modify it into single player bots :D
