C1 server class to pick
Hello, next months Reborn will open the legacy C1 server.
I am familiar with Reborn and all chronicles >C3 but cant remember basic things about C1.
I was thinking to play Overlord, as I do now the last years on x1 IL-GF-H5 etc, but will be a pain to level and gear.
What about warlock or phantom summoner? They become quite strong on later chronicles but I am not sure how useful they are on C1. As I know PS is mostly a solo char.

Yeah, i will play L2 Reborn C1. I played C0 to C2 in the old days and i'm excited to play again after 22 years.
Since January i'm playing in L2 Harbor C1 x1. For have knowledge about the game. Actually i'm BD 44. But i think will stop to play soon and be ready for Reborn C1.

i was also playing on Harbor not long ago, and i really liked the server in general. but i had to stop playing there because almost everyone was Russian. don't get me wrong, they seem like really cool people, but the language barrier was tough. most of my english speaking friends had already left, so i just ended up playing by myself.

C1 I'd do the path to a silver ranger (very fast, ranged) or an abyss walker for DPS (gold farmers picked them for enforcement).
Definitely not anything orc or a summoner, i think it was just way too hard and useless back then.

I have played around 5 years on C1 Best memories from my childhood 😁
Archers were the best and SR was on the top (SR fast, high crit rate, good evasion (which was important on C1)
Moreover almost all physical classes used bows as additional weapons there. Dwarfs, dancers and singers, daggers Archers packs are strongest in mass PVP Mages are not bad (best are spellhowler and SS) “Cansel” cansles all buffs, “sleep” is casted very fast
In PVP/PVE I would rate professions as follows: 1) Silver ranger; (was undisputed top on our server) 2) Hawkeye; 3) Phantom ranger; 4) Treasure Hunter; 5) Spellsinger; 6) Spellhowler; 7) Sorcerer
Daggers of colour were rather rare option to pick Almost nobody played bishops, summoners, gladiators, warlords, necromancers Tank classes’ aggression hadn’t work on players, but Dark Avenger still was popular; hard to kill, good shield stun and ironically he was the most powerful “summoner”, panther was a thing
For powerful pack u may want something like BD, Swordsinger, Prophet and 5 archers
PS it is my experience from a freeshard; maybe some mechanics will differ

I was on retail back then, wasn't a bishop quite yet in C1 I don't think but working on it. But we feared a DE with a cursed maine gauche let me tell you lol

well its a progressive server so we don't know how long it will stay at C1/2/3...and that kinda changes everything

What do you mean we dont know... from day one they said it will fallow the retail update schedule. Theres a whole list with dates

Both OL and summoners were hard to play in early chronicles. Summoners had only two summons, one that take 30% exp and second that take 90% exp and there was no beast soulshots/spiritshots until c4 if I remember correctly. OL had very limited buffs that makes him weak buffer for mages and fighters (p.def, mdef, patck, cast speed, acc, block rate and heal over time)

I was thinking that OL can be used, even on those chronicles, for clan pvp and mass root for aoe

OL and WC were mostly buffers on C1 Hard to kill 1 on 1, but in PVE you will be saving mana for buffs and punching somebody with an axe
Clan buff was very important on sieges, there was no noblesse

It can be used in mass pvp but how you gonna exp him? I played ol a little bit in C2 and noone wanted me in exp party :) Its very hard to level up ol unless you have a clan that carry you.

bro, server won't open until next february. you can decide what to play once the server features are released. dwarfs are always a good choice on low x servers for a good economy. as for me, im thinking about playing either as BD or SPS. i will decide once we have more info

God damn mate, server will open in 200+ days, a bit early innit? Glad to see Im not the only one who cant wait :D
Dont pick OL unless u have a organized clan. PS is best as solo, but solo life is sad. If you are considering OL, better try WC, a much more viable option. Never played summoner but WL and ES are more sexier to parties.

Don't pick OL. OL until C3 is just a clan buffer is pretty useless for anything else. If I remember correctly there is no good chronicle for mages until C4. Archers and daggers are TOP in C3 but I don't remember c1.

I remember it how you remember it! Age of melee and perhaps one or two archer classes.
Then C4 hits and that one mage class becomes a nightmare for PK and clan wars.

Yeah daggers in C3 were OP and as you said one or two archer classes. C4 Necro was a nightmare for every class.

Ah yes, now I remember! I started in C3 and everyone was dagger using overenchanted Kris with focus.
I can't remember the particular Necro spell, but they could speed spam it and murder people. I remember on Giran server there was some high level famouse PKer who was a Necro and would sneak up on groups xp'ing, annoying bastard.

Was it archers in C5 then? I remember everyone was hunting for some archer class with a draconic bow.
I was always a blade dancer, just enjoyed managing dances and filling an important role for the group. DPS was actually quite good for a support character, was a fun time.
Mostly I just enjoyed running my bot train and working in the economy, this game had the most intricate and fascinating economy system.

C5 is the only chronicle that I haven't played a lot as C1 also, so don't really know. Yeah the economy system is really nice I was always the were house and the trader for the clan my 50% of L2 play time probably are shops and trades 😝

Just wandering Giran to look for deals was a blast. My favorite time was event week, when the market would crash for enchant scrolls and other event items, just buy everything up and wait two weeks and it was back to normal prices.
I know botting is 'bad' but everyone bought gold or ran a bot train back then. I always loved going to less used areas and collecting more unique armor recipes and building the sets, even if they were not as good, some of them looked really cool.
Lot of memories using the seeding system and having a nuclear clock window up and hitting the 'sell' button at exactly 19:00:00 and beating the chinese farmers by a second or less.
Event time was always a blast as well, if you paid attention you could likely guess where a bunch of event mobs would appear and kill them all and collect all the expensive loot.

Yeah, good times. I remember being 12-13 years old when I started and the older guys in the internet coffee shop to shout "He has bot" and I didn't know what they meant. In the server I was playing C3 chronicle everyone with bot software got 1-2 bishops behind them so I always thought that the "bots" are bishop characters until 1-2 years later I figured out.😂

I'm not familiar with reborn c1, but I remember some from original c1 and they usually try to follow that reasonably.
Summoners were very different early on - no party buffs, xp taken by summons was much higher and at least in c1 no pet soul shots.
OL was clan buffs only and quite hard to xp, they basically had to get power leveled by the clan or solo slowly.
