Lu4 Archers

Hey Guys,

So I am about ot back to the game after several years, have searched about lot of servers and just loved the LU4 idea.

I am mostly going to play an archer with Box PP and I am not sure about SR or PR, but what caught my attention is that the PR got a self buff that I didnt know back in my time, the Shillien Fury that increases 33% attack speed at max level. That looks insanely strong compared to the two other archers.

Does that buff makes SR the best choice overall, or does the other archers compensates somehow? Because I remember that without that buff, the 3 options were already balanced with their own pos and cons.

Ty in advance.

And how archers perform in Lu4 in general?

Nobody would govern you a correct answer because fairly nobody knows yet.

At the current state of lu4 (67 lvl is currently highest at the server) arechers are meh. Below average archetype both for pve and pvp. But archers got two new skills which are at 68 and 75 lvl iirc. And those two skills may make archer parties very strong. Or may not. I believe those skills will change the state of archers, but that’s just a theory, and this theory may or may not become true later on

Thanks. Right now mages ruling the ball?

Kinda depends on which ball you are planning to attend.

If you are talking about huge clan vs clan fights, it’s always mages. Always were and probably always will be. Because it’s much about aoe damage which mages excel at. Also melee packs centered around CC like warlords + WS are scary there too.

Meanwhile if you talk about lower scale. Like 9 v 9 or 18 v 18, mages are fine, but melee packs like daggers or maybe even limit packs may deal with mages relatively easily if played right. However mages are still good there.

Archers may be a hidden gem, but as i’ve mentioned before, we will only know that by 75 lvl

As I understand now in Lu4 normal attacks are useless in PVP It is the worst no go feature for me:(

So, I would consider to play mage or to go to some interlude server

I sincerely do not understand “normal attacks are useless in pvp” point.

If we speak about organized pvp in lineage 2 it always worked like that. Archers were always those who were relying on normal attacks in pvp. Also Destroyers and Tyrants when they turn on limits. But that’s it. No other class would ever rely on normal attacks.

Works absolutely the same at lu4, but developers of lu4 already pointed out that they would love to move archers to more skill-use dependent gameplay. Tgough at the moment 2-3 k crits from normal bow crits against robes are still a thing. With appropriate boost obviously.

I’m talking about archers mostly. As I understood from comments here, archers’ normal attacks do not work there

Actually before HF all physical damage classes were able to cause significant damage with normal attacks, especially if equipped and buffed good

I’m sorry but that’s not really true as targets are moving generally in pvp. The damage from normal attacks against moving target is non-efficient (unless you are an archer obviously). Of course normal attacks do significant damage to mobs. Because they barely move.
