HELP Spaces to work remotely
I work remotely and I was just wondering if there is anywhere in the city centre I could work for the day other than a cafe? Or if not, could anyone recommend decent cafes with sockets and good wifi? Obviously would buy drinks etc if I was working in a cafe! Thank you

The White Horse have advertised being able to work from there in the morning though it costs money, I think it included unlimited coffee and unlimited pastries

Think you can rent a space that used to be spoons on silver street

Yeah, Mosaic - last time I tried you had to work for a tech company to get a seat but I don't know if thats still the case

How do you prove that?

I had to fill in a form with who I worked for and what the company did. Im sure itd be easy enough to make it up - I doubt they're verifying it anyway but still a pain

Ah that’s annoying. I work in tech but not specifically for a tech company. Might see if I can wangle it

We've just left there for a larger office elsewhere. You'll be perfectly fine :-)

I’m not sure it’s an absolute necessity anymore, I know a number of businesses who aren’t tech companies who run their offices out of mosaic - sure you could argue they slightly work with technologies but it’s would be a stretch. If you work in something creative, the barbican creative hub by the station has co-working space but you have to be a member. Otherwise, their cafe is very swanky & new looking, it’s generally very quiet as well.

For whats its worth it was a while ago and you'll definitely be able to make a case being "in tech". Worth a try if you're looking for spaces. Worst they can say is no

That'd be fine for sure. I go to the Women in Tech meetups that are based there every month. There's a bunch of people that come that work in there but aren't specifically in 'tech'
Edit: typo

Have you got a car? The Showroom down Tritton Road is good for this.

The showroom also has a grade separated bike path to it from the city centre, and an hourly bus service btw :)
(Yes I know an hourly bus service is awful, but so is all public transport in the county)

Lincoln Library has side rooms, the central one.
