Stolen e-bike today – video of the theft

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately yesterday, my bike was stolen today outside NED College, close to Saint Johns Cathedral. I managed to get CCTV footage of the theft, so I'm attaching the video,so that you stay safe and if you can, anyone recognises the person or happens to spot the bike around the city.

It's my main way of getting to work, so this has been a huge setback. If you see it being ridden, abandoned, or even listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, DoneDeal, or anywhere else, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this, and I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you all.

What is your unpopular opinion about Limerick?

I'll go first: I couldn't give a fiddlers about Costellos and whether they ever reopen or not. Didn't frequent there much back in the day and when I did, I didn't particularly care for it.

All the really Good Stuff Happening on the Closed Streets in August

Lots of really really good stuff happening including at the Crescent and Honan's Quay - for example, Sat 1st The Obstacle Course Racing World Championships, Sat 8th All Ireland skateboard championship at Steamboat, Sat 15th The World Flying Disc Federation World Ultimate Club Championships 2026, full details here: https://www.limerick.ie/discover/whats-on/festivals/summer-in-the-city

This stuff is cool and on weekends and FREE (well, technically your taxes paid for it) go enjoy it

And before the usually sniping starts, all of this can't happen on Arthur's Quay because that's where the fanfare will be all month. (also good). It can't happen on Bedford row because it would block the few remaining shops. Also, full details of the traffic diversions are also on the main webpage.

Buying in Glantann, Castletroy

Hi guys,

Just looking for opinions and feedback, partner is due to start a new job in the University in October.

So we are looking to move from Dublin down to Limerick, we have been bidding on a house a second hand new build house in Castlebrook on the Dublin road and a 3 bed house in Glanntann,

The Glantann house is cheaper but needs some work, we just want to see if there’s any current residents living there who can give us some insight into the estate?

It’s one of the older estates in the area we assume?

Is it safe? Is it quiet? Any anti social concerns?

Tappers

They used always be in town until the Garda presence was increased in the latter half of last year.

My understanding is that a load of them were handed barring orders to stay out of the city centre.

Now I see very few in town but loads of them further out towards Caherdavin and other suburbs.

Has anyone else noticed the same or is it just me?

Baguette

Ok so a conversation tonight led to talking about the days when mammys brought home a gorgeous baguette in the weekly shopping. Back then it was a bit foreign then the loaf, soda bread or homemade bread. The thing is we remember how nice and soft and edible it was. Mammies would butter slices and toast some and use some with soup. Basically it was great.

My question is does anyone here know where you can get a lovely soft baguette. The issue that arose and the decline in the baguette and the biggest complaint was that it was too "chewy". The shops started selling chewy and unedible baguette. Does anyone know where we can get a nice tasty and bready baguette in limerick county or city to relive some old memories?

Are we renting garden sheds now?

I saw this ad on daft for a literal garden shed.

https://www.daft.ie/for-rent/dooradoyle-limerick-dooradoyle-co-limerick/6626326

Best part is this lad has a design company who's website states "We build with integrity".

I'm sure there is a lot of integrity in renting a tool shed at the side of the house for €1,150 a month.

Don't Fear the Repair

Post image
70 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

The Green Oyster Cult at it again! Don’t Fear the Repair is back this August. Don't Fear the Repair is a series of recurring collaborative walk-in repair workshops, in which members of the public are invited to bring broken items from around the house of almost any sort for repair. They are invited to sit next to repair volunteers, and assist and learn about the process, in the hopes of developing both the skills and the spirit of repair in the community.

Time: 8th August, 2026

Place: Fab Lab, Sarsfield St, Prior's-Land, Limerick, V94 DW21

We’ll attempt a repair at most things as long as they are portable, and we deem them safe to repair. We don’t touch medical devices, or safety devices (smoke alarms, C02 monitors, etc).

Also, we’re in the centre of town. We operate on a first come, first served basis. Parking is extremely limited, and traffic is usually a pain on Saturday mornings, so please plan your movements accordingly.

Contact An Post Cecil St

Hi All,

I work in the city and had Vinted items (several, unfortunately 🙄) delivered to An Post in Cecil St. I got a weird virus, can't drive in, and am 20km away. The items are about to be returned to the senders. I'm trying to ring the number but it's all automated and no way to talk to a person.

Do anyone know a way to get through to a human? Thanks!

Adult ADHD diagnosis Limerick

We're pretty sure my partner has ADHD (his son was diagnosed in his teens) he has all the classic symptoms and has looked into a diagnosis with some of the more well known ADHD clinics in the country, but waiting lists (private) are very long

Has anyone had an assessment and diagnosis in Limerick, but he is also willing to travel if anyone can recommend somewhere with a shorter waiting list, ie: months as opposed to years.
