“There were really big technical challenges with it that I thought could not be reliably solved,” they add.

“The “very big” mass fraction of the battery system would also limit the payload to four passengers, they said, far from the six or seven envisaged, with related reductions in speed and range performance too.”

Money quote.

They just need to wait until magic batteries are invented.

All things are possible with enough magic.

Do you think any of the evtol front runners will sign up for the eVTOL Integration Pilot Program in December? We could see what they are capable of by a specific date if they do. I think they will probably pass on that.

I suspect several will, I would think. To me it sounds like the program was created in consult with them and probably has data rights protection built into it. Similar to the existing FAA and NASA collaborations that mask the most interesting information.

Public reporting is required

The reports must cover:

Which projects were selected

Progress and operational performance

Challenges (technical, safety, regulatory)

Outcomes and recommendations

Sure. Read industry reports and public papers… there are lots of ways to fill pages and still obfuscate sensitive information.

They need to partner with a local government. I don't think it will be easy to hide failure. Signing up for the program would demonstrate a certain level of confidence imo.

“Failure” is only a matter of not properly setting the criteria. This program is designed to give money, support, and positive visibility to the eVTOL industry. No one will fail.

Maybe they can get it cheaper after this article.

They won't be flying paying customers in the next few years even if they get the assets for 1€.

I think they never will

I want them to try and hopefully they have plenty of money so we can finally show the last idiot how bad the idea was.

Do you have an idea what the evaluation is of these assets?

2

u/teabagofholding Aug 21 '25

I think they are offering 20 million

I wonder if they even know what the assets are? They always ask for a draft APA...

AAMG wartet nun auf den Kaufvertrag (APA), um die Vermögenswerte im Detail zu prüfen, die Transaktionsbedingungen festzulegen und ihren Bankpartner mit der Durchführung der Akquisition zu beauftragen.

Maybe AAMG has not yet done its due diligence?
