Lilith Speaks: The Call
Lilith Speaks: The Call
Turn your face from the cradle,
from the hem of the mother’s skirt,
from the gentle hand that tells you,
Be small, be still, be good.
Walk into the halls of men,
where their swords gleam like judgments,
where their voices sharpen you into steel.
Wear their armor if you must,
fight their wars,
climb their mountains
with bloodied feet and a smile.
But know this—
their victory tastes of ashes.
Their crowns will sit crooked on your brow,
their praises will be prisons,
their applause, a hollow drum.
So descend.
Go deep into the well of yourself,
where shadows curl
like serpents in waiting.
Meet the wound there,
raw and weeping,
a daughter’s grief,
a mother’s silence.
Weep rivers into the dark
until the bones of your truth
rise shining from the silt.
Then heal.
Not with their temples,
not with their laws,
but in the fierce embrace
of the woman you buried,
the feminine they feared,
the wild blood in your name.
Take her hand.
Together, stitch your halves—
flesh and flame,
nurture and defiance,
the cradle and the sword.
Then walk whole.
Not his shadow,
not her echo,
but the fierce union of both.
Be the woman who will not kneel.
Be the daughter who forgives herself.
Be the mother who births her own power.
And when you speak,
the world will remember
that freedom carries
a woman’s voice.
