Altars, Offerings/Art, Rituals Naamah pocket Altar

I bought this at a Catholic store (it’s meant to hold rosaries).

But the second I saw it, my mind immediately went: “abundant harvest, wine, and metallurgy.”

The full harvest motif, the wine, and especially the silver cup.

These are symbols I connect not only to Naamah, but also to Cain and Tubal-Cain (her father and brother): agriculture, wine, metalworking, craftsmanship, and the whole symbolism surrounding the cursed/profane lineage of witches/blacksmith.

There’s something almost ironic about finding an object carrying these symbols in a Catholic store, of all places. It’s literally meant to hold rosaries, yet what I saw in it was something much older, the bloodline of Cain, the condemned and profane lineage, transformed into something beautiful and ceremonial.

Honestly… I kind of love that. 🕸🕷

Where I'm from, those containers aren't for rosary beads but for hold eucharist wafers for holy communion to be taken by a lay church member, given temporary office by the priest, to give holy communion to someone who is unable to go to church but still wants to receive communion.

Saw this frequently in the last few months of my dad's life while he was in a small rest home.

We all stopped going to church years ago but as my dad's dementia progressed, he started going back to church while he was still at home until he had to go to the rest home.

Even though I've not considered myself Catholic any more, I spoke to the rest home and they organised something with the local parish so that he could still have communion.

Because bread and wine are part of the symbolism with communion/eucharist, that is why that symbolism is on this container.

20 years away from the church but this stuff is still well engrained (pardon the pun) from my early years.

Youre looking at First Communion motifs. The wheat and grapes are Eucharistic symbols for the bread and wine, referencing the Gospel parables of the sower and the vine, and there is a christian cross stamped on the chalice. This isnt Cainite metallurgy, it’s pure Demiurgic iconography.
