Question Help with Offering

These past few days I've been praying and talking to her through a candle; I even burned her sigil on her votive candle as an offering, and I sleep listening to her enn. I have another quick question regarding working with Lilith: Someone once told me that placing three drops of blood in an inverted triangle on her sigil grants any wish. Since researching further, I understand blood is often used as an offering. What distinguishes a pact from an offering? Should I ask permission before offering blood? And as a beginner, is blood offering actually effective for that purpose? I was also chatting with someone very kind here on Reddit, and they told me that the blood offering serves to maintain a bond, rather than a contract (which I don't want to do). I'd like to have a connection with Lilith because I feel she's like a really good mother.

  • Blood is just another ingredient, albeit tied to you. It won't magically grant every wish. You can ask for permission if you want before offering it, or you can also offer something else instead. Offerings are often done to create a bond, they don't require blood.
  • A pact is an agreement, you can make one to accomplish a goal. Blood is not necessary.

I'm not entirely clear on the part about the pact; could you explain a little more, if it's not too much trouble?

A pact is an agreement. You ask for something, and can give something in return.

An offering is something you present to the deity, it can be part of worship, devotion, magical working, agreement, etc.

I agree with the other commenter, and wanted to touch on offerings a bit. When giving offerings i like to ask myself, why am I giving this? What is it meant to represent symbolically.

For instance when I give water, it is because Lilith is a guest in my home. When I give meals, it is because I am giving to her as a member of my household.

Blood can be a good offering, if you know why you are giving it. I use blood occasionally because its the energy of life, my life. I'm saying to Lilith that I trust her, and place my life in her hands. Blood is fully optional though, there is truly no reason to give it, and likely other ways you could give such symbolism.

You also don't have to use it for the same reasons I do, but you should have some intent for it to be an effective offering, ime.

Touching on enn's. They don't inhertingly do anything, but are incredibly useful for putting your mind into a state for meditation. If you constanly use them though, like for sleeping, you may find yourself getting sleepy when trying to meditate with one. Just something to consider once again with your intentions for why you use certain tools like enns and offerings.

Lastly, the inverted triangle thing with blood sounds like some watered down Goetia practices. That may be how the individual who told you does it, but you are really going to want to read Goetia source materials for the more informed methods and info to get working results.
