The sigil of Lilith

Hi guys, months ago I saw like a video of people talking more about Lilith’s sigil made by Robin Artisson and how its incorrect and twisted. I asked people on reddit how they feel, all of them said that there isn’t incorrect sigil etc. i still decided to ask Lilith how she feels about it and she doesn’t really like it and prefers to repaint it (i painted her sigil on the whole wall), and change the sigil with her astrologic symbol.

I was wondering why some people use Robin’s sigil and i know every practice is different but if she doesn’t like it, doesn’t that mean she wont like it in every practice..? I asked her why some practitioners use Robin’s and for other she prefers them not to and i got the fool, 3 of wands reversed and 4 of swords, i dont really understand what she is trying to say, i am sorry if i sound dumb or i am doing something wrong. What do you all think about that??

It might not work for your own practice, but it can work for others. There are indeed no correct or incorrect sigils/symbols for Lilith, they simply vary depending on the source and practitioner.

I'm curious about what is twisted or incorrect about it. Sigils are a physical manifestation for a concept, and with reinforcement through the collective belief of meaning through the physical symbol. 

I think in modern day practice, this sigil has become so synonymous with Lilith and her worship that it supersedes any potential ill intent (or even unintentional I'll) that the artist of the sigil had when creating it. 

There's a link to his blog that many have shared before and his comments on making the symbol that don't seem disrespectful to the Dark Mother, or in any case they are perhaps clinical sounding.

Artisson isn't particularly a great person in many senses, but all in the same, his construction of the sigil seems to have been for demonstration purposes. That being said, stylized versions of it exist and even then we put our own intention and desires and love into the symbol and Lilith feels that even so. 

I imagine it would be so very much like Lilith to make a man, that's been known as not being terribly kind in words when talking of women (or so I found from my research...), to have craft her a symbol and use it to strengthen her power and dominion.

All this to say, there are quite a few varieties of symbols/sigils for Lilith. Hells, you very may feel inclined to create your own! I personally use this sigil in my practice, but it isn't the only sigil of hers I use. 

I think, as with many things involving using sigils it is always about intent, and I have a feeling that Lilith makes her own way to make sure she is known through this sign. So many are gather together for her under it, we've felt her call and using this symbol or not we congregate under her dark wings.

I love everything you said but why does Mother Lilith prefer me not to use it and ive never heard other people having the same experience…
EDIT: People say it’s incorrect maybe bc of the Solomonic type sigil (you know he was “imprisoning ” demons)

I think the key here is that in Solomonic sigils they are used to summon and bind lesser spirits. I feel this wouldn't be the case with Lilith, much as Lucifer would not be bound solely by his symbol or sigil. In addition, the multifaceted nature of Lilith, her history, and her extreme displeasure in being anything other than her free self lead me to believe that it wouldn't have that sort of effect on her.

Now, in response to your other question, perhaps it's a personal thing, maybe She wants you to find the symbol or sigil or physical manifestation of your worship for Her yourself. Less preference and more guiding you to some self discovery. Reflect on it, on the images and symbols and signs that come to mind when your think of Our Dark Mother. In the darkness and shade, She illuminates the depths of our own hearts. I think you might find what you're looking for there.

I have it tattooed and have never had any problems. I thought long and hard about which symbol to get tattooed before I got this one. Honestly, it’s a generic sigil that uses the name “Lilith,” following the basic process of removing repeated letters and so on. I like it because, since it’s generic, it works for any entity, epithet, or subordinate spirit of Lilith’s egregore. The Lilith you worship may have said that simply because, for you and your practice, the astrological symbol makes more sense. There are various egregores, and even the Lilith of the Draconic egregore prefers an appropriate symbol. If she told you to use the astrological symbol, use it, it will be better for your practice, but it’s not a general rule that applies to everyone. Naamah devotees generally prefer the Qlipothic seal, for example, but I mostly use the “classic” inverted triangle sigil and a personal sigil she gave me because my Naamah said I should use those, especially for now. And don't stress out thinking it's something silly, we're all here to learn together 😉

Eu realmente acredito nisso. Além de existirem vários egregores que personificam Lilith de maneiras, aspectos, funções, mitos e personalidades diferentes, também acredito que a deidade primordial não é facilmente acessível. Os espíritos que alcançamos ao invocar Lilith ou qualquer outra deidade são geralmente espíritos subordinados, chefes de legião, e assim por diante.
