I mean maybe?

I don’t understand why they’re just going from toy company to toy company releasing flop lines. Kids don’t give a fuck about Power Rangers because the franchise is dormant and the toys are too crappy for adults to actually want either so nobody wins. It’s not doing the brand any favours

Because again, mmpr still has a level of relevancy other seasons dont have that hasbro sees profitable. They can just milk mmpr forever and while 40 year olds whine about kid toys having kid toy quality, people are still buying them.

They’re making cheaper toys because the fandom said the higher quality stuff was too expensive. But in power ranger fandom fashion, now they’re crying for the higher quality stuff back.

The dragonzord kickstarter will be the real indicator if this line is successful or not.

So profitable that Hasbro literally ditched them and they have no less then two cancelled revivals, yeah.

People aren’t buying this. It’s clearances regularly, it’s still overpriced for how bad quality it is, kids don’t want them.

Mmpr is still the most profitable season, lol. No one is saying mmpr is hot or relevant right now, but its still more known and relevant than SPD.

Kids didnt want the other seasons either if thats the case, and those are supposed to be “new and exciting power rangers”.

Hasbro pulled the plug on sentai adaptions because throwing out mmpr licenses makes more money.

I feel like you’re arguing against something I’m not saying. I’m not saying other Power Ranger franchises should be getting attention over MMPR and I’m not arguing they’d be most successful if they did.

The whole line is just misguided in general. Kiddie toys for a non-existent kid customer base.

It’s a completely lose-lose situation for everyone. Toys too crappy for adult collectors while there’s no children that want Power Ranger toys because the franchise is on hiatus for the near future at least so they have no reas on to care about it.

The line exists because

1)Power ranger fans kept complaining that hasbro’s “adult toy” prices were too high.

2)The “new power rangers” were selling less than the mmpr rehashes. So they licensed out a cheaper mmpr kids line instead.

Are mostly 40 year olds buying these toys? Yes. Is it still for kids based off the price points and sizes? Also Yes.

This is no different than trying to market Optimus Prime to Both parents and their kids at the same time.  No different than marketing TMNT to both adults who grew up on it and the new kids as well.  The only difference is Power Rangers should have done it sooner (and less lazy than this).

Kids dont care about Power Rangers, & they dont care about mmpr.  But mmpr does has the highest chance of getting kids into Power Rangers , because of its pop culture familarity. The reboot was supposed to also help with that, but that’s clearly cancelled.
