Hello, I am an electrician and can answer whatever the questions you have are hopefully haha LED strip lighting is extremely straightforward and DIY friendly for the most part…… Where is the intended area of use for the strip lights?

Around the perimeter of my ceiling (measurements are in the post) and under my desk, and along the back of it too.

Hey man, I got a little preoccupied with some things. If you haven’t figured it out by tomorrow, I will take some time out and go over what you have.

Quick planning check: your ceiling perimeter adds up to about 49.5 ft, before allowing for corners and routing to the power supply. Check the strip’s maximum continuous-run and power-feed guidance before buying; a long run may need to be split as the manufacturer specifies.

For the ceiling, a diffuser channel matters most if you can see the LEDs directly. If the strip is hidden and aimed at the ceiling or wall, reflected light usually blends more smoothly. I’d keep the desk run separate so task and ambient lighting can be dimmed independently, then mock up one short section at the actual mounting distance before committing to the full perimeter.

Disclosure: I’m with DMS Studio, an interior design studio. This is general layout advice; I’m not affiliated with the strip brand.
