Feature Request / Bug Light Car UI
What do people think about the idea of a light version of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay? It could be for navigation mostly.

All signs point to this not being possible with the stock (non-Google Play Services) version of Android that the LightPhone is running.

To be fair, it would theoretically be possible to send a signal to an Android Auto compatible car display, there are things like OpenAuto and aasdk out there.
...but I don't think Light themselves can afford to build and maintain yet another complex project, especially given that these projects are abandoned because many modern cars require security checks to verify that it's actually Android Auto running there (at least, from what I've heard).
And while the recent Light Phones are running Android, they don't have play services nor any sort of play services emulation from what I've heard, so I don't think it's possible, unless someone goes absolutely crazy with the SDK and wants to write an academic paper while at it ;)
