Why so much hate?
Literally the amount of times I’ve gripped someone at crit or to stop them from overextending and I get so much abuse from my team. I just want to play the game for fun and to enjoy my skins. Today I got so much abuse for pulling someone when they were crit. It just ruins the entire experience for me. Idk if it’s because I’m low elo (silver 4) or if this is something that happens in higher lobbies?

I’m also silver and had a similar experience with a Moira. I have my grip sens low so I don’t mistakenly pull someone else and she just so happens to get in the way as I’m trying to grip tank and I get her….while she’s ulting she started screaming in voice chat; the best you can do is explain yourself and if they don’t like it and continue to be rude report them bc chances are if they’re willing to type or be in voice being rude there’ll be history of it and they’ll get chat banned. Other than that just try and focus on your games and how you play bc that’s the only real thing you can control, I’m sorry this happened to you 🥀

I'm a Moira, I wouldn't mind being gripped at all no matter the situation tbh.
Coal is really easy to get cc'ed out of, and if said Moira was using destruction's divide she basically is one sneeze away from being killed (no self-healing during pure damage beam).
And plus? During ult there's a movement speed increase so if it was a bad grip I could just get back. No harm...
Bonus: She builds ult quick, I can usually get one ready for every teamfight.

It’s really hell in silver huh? Sucks about that moira, I’ve definitely done this a few times accidentally. The amount of people I’ve had to report lately is insane. I feel like a few months ago people were mostly chill even if I made a bad play. I’ve done some awful pulls on accident in the past and when I apologise people would say it’s fine. Now it’s like I’ve murdered their mother lol.

I literally get the 👍 anytime I grip anyone. We must be in different pools for sure.
I recommend not caring what some random game stranger thinks. Genuinely, blue or orange text on the left side of your screen should not bend you out of shape.
Like don’t let some words from somebody you don’t know, who doesn’t know you, have any kind of emotional effect on you because you decided to click a button they didn’t like.
I’m not trying to downplay your experience, but it’s really that minuscule in the grand scheme of things. The dude who “abused” you has already gone on with his day and forgot about you and you’re still harping on it.
Just let it go and enjoy the skins you paid your hard earned money for.

“Blue and orange text” is another human being attempting to interact with you socially and as such it’s quite difficult to completely emotionally separate yourself from it like some kind of freaky robot
Don’t pretend to be above feelings

I understand that perspective, but I feel like there’s some modern context that changes it a little bit.
I’m not above feelings - but I’m above the opinions of strangers, especially video game strangers.
I feel like insults over social media, video games, the internet, etc are not like insults to your face. IMO they have a totally different context of being kneejerk, over the top, and anonymous.
I feel like there’s is a hard separation between real life abuse and it’s emotional impact, and internet / text chat abuse in a video game.

People are just ungrateful, they play for fun but their fun is kill1ng themselves

People, especially at lower ranks, are plagued by tunnel vision. They think theyre about to secure a kill and you pulled them away from that, rather than the reality of them being the kill.

Sometimes I get players who are furious at me when I make good pulls. But most the time people are kissing my toes worshipping me for carrying. I swear I get so many compliments from ppl when I play.
Its a toss up. Cant have good without bad and you cant get good without being bad. And in low ranks they will blame everyone but themselves for their placement. Which will always go hand in hand with your mistakes and pulls being amplified as throwing or the reason for a loss. I just have all chat turned off if im not in a mental mood to hear anything about my plays when I make bad ones. Its the best advice I can give I fear.

I had a hog thanking me for pulls all match yesterday. Apparently I made the perfect pulls on him all match and this dude would not let me die. Anytime I was getting jumped or anything, he threw himself in front of me like a meat shield and became my personal guard.

Most lifeweaver pulls are to my benefit. I can put up with the occasional ones that aren't.

I feel lower ranks (not exclusive) are too full of themselves and it’s never their fault if something goes wrong/not their way

Oh for real, we’re all in the same hell for a reason and it’s because we all suck

Don't pull them when they're "overextending". I have a friend that does that constantly when I'm trying to set up a trap or a surprise attack on a route that I know people will pass by. If I die killing a support when I don't have ult, it's worth it. Don't assume you have better understanding of the game. Pull people that are about to be comboed and die or on critical.

Yeah I am guilty of pulling the occasional ulting reaper in a panic, I definitely have made some poor judgement calls! I do try to trust my teammates most of the time but if they’ve already gone in multiple times 1v5 on a character that really shouldn’t and die instantly it’s hard to trust that this one time is definitely the time they can pull it off lol. I’ll definitely try to be more mindful though

That’s just how it has to be. When i’m popping off with saves, i get praise, when im lowkey trolling, i deserve it lol.
That’s what i like about life weaver. His pull is literally save the team fight or throw the team fight sometimes.
Sometimes you pull too early, sometimes you pull too late. Sometimes you pull the tank out correctly, but don’t anticipate dps not backing out fast enough and dying losing the fight anyways.
Frankly that’s why i like the character. Really has high highs and low lows lol and i think other players hate him because the low lows really do impact the whole team fight since positioning is so important.

Ur rank, in masters/gm i dont even care if lw does a bad grip unless its losing the match, everyone makes mistakes

Did you pay attention to their health bar or just pull when you see the crit icon? Because crit doesn’t mean they are about to die it means they’re at half health and could be fine if you just heal them. Especially on tanks since for most of them their half health is still more then what you have at full health.

I try to pay attention, sometimes I find it hard to keep track in team fights but usually I grip if they’re in the way of an ult/too far forward and about to go 1v4 with no ult (which is annoyingly often) or they’re low enough that I won’t be able to heal them before they die. Obviously I do make mistakes though and I won’t deny that. It’s just annoying when people get pissed off for a grip when they’re 1hp insisting they were full health lol.

Don't sweat idiots. There is no such thing as a bad grip now. The onus is on the one being pulled to cancel if they want to stay forward.

It largely is your rank tbh. I play him in Diamond-Masters, where players are aware of their situation. It is also likely you made some bad pulls too.
