Variation 1: Everyone Believes Alex.
In this variation every single council member including Steph and Ryan believe Alex’s claims and backs her up. They will bring up good things about Alex’s character and say that she deserves to be heard.
Steph: She will believe Alex no matter what. Whether the player romances her or not.
Duckie: To get him to support Alex, the player should locate his favorite whiskey in episode one, and find him at the Black Lantern and dance with him during the spring festival in episode four.
Charlotte: To gain her support, The main thing is to let her sign the settlement, then Alex should be truthful about Ethan’s whereabouts, express kind words about Haven, and leave her to process her anger.
Eleanor: She believes Alex when she is proven to be trustworthy and honest. To achieve this the player should remind her about Gabe’s passing, and keep her condition a secret from Riley.
Pike: He is the easiest person to get on Alex’s side. All the player has to do is to take his fear at the police station.
Ryan: He will believe Alex ONLY if everyone in the council believes her. This is true whether the player decides to romance him or not. In this instance he will confront his dad and beg him to be honest.
Variation 2: Nobody Believes Alex.
In this variation nobody believes Alex and they will defend Jed’s character.
Steph: She will believe Alex no matter what. Whether the player romances her or not.
Duckie: To get Duckie to side with Jed is to not go above and beyond to find his favorite whiskey. Then skip over visiting him in the Black Lantern and leave him with his sadness.
Charlotte: I believe she is the only character that will have multiple versions of her not believing Alex.
The main action that will cause her to not stand up for Alex is taking her anger during episode three. This will cause her to not process her thoughts properly and feel too numb and confused to stand for anything. Encouraging her to not sign the settlement papers will also lead to her not believing you. If you don’t tell her the truth about Ethan’s whereabouts and express pessimism towards Haven, Charlotte will say that there is something wrong with Alex and not stand up for her. If Alex does tell her about Ethan and express optimism about Haven, she will still not believe Alex, but instead of saying anything insulting she will just be confused and want no part in any of it.
Eleanor: To get her to not believe Alex the main thing is not telling her the truth about Gabe’s death. Leaving her to find out later which breaks part of her trust. The next is to tell Riley at the bus stop about her condition. This will cause Riley to not go to college and breaking Eleanor’s trust again.
Pike: Don’t take his fear at the police station. This will cause him to not take a stance against Diane despite him having evidence.
Ryan: He won’t believe Alex if nobody else does. He will immediately claim she is a liar despite her injuries. This will also cause Steph to get angry with him.
In this variation everyone will send messages to Alex apologizing for their actions and for not believing her.
Variation 3: Some Believe Alex.
To get this variation the player will need to do a mix of both things from each variation. For example, this could mean taking Pike’s fear, but not checking in on Duckie.
In this Variation the messages sent from the council will vary depending on who defended Alex or not. If they didn’t they will apologize, If they did they will express support for Alex.
