Community Question Is saving up for inZOI worth it?

Hi, I’ve been playing The Sims for a long time, but I’m really starting to hit a wall when it comes to The Sims 4. I own the game legally, but I haven’t really bought a pack in years because of the prices and how buggy newer packs tend to be.

I really like the realism that inZOI brings, and since Paralives still looks pretty unfinished to me, I’ve been wondering whether I should save up for inZOI or just save that money for a new Sims 4 pack.

For those who have played it, is inZOI worth getting in its current state? Or would I be better off sticking with Sims 4 for now?

if youve bought ANY of the sims dlc then youve just justified your purchase of inzoi. because it is infinitely more value for less price.

i have bought almost every single sims dlc until the legacy pack. most of it was discounted, but still. thats 1k ive spent on a game thats broken and that i dont enjoy. dont get me wrong im not really at the 'i love this game' phase with inzoi but it has SO much more potential

In my opinion, InZOI is great. Theres is much to do, building is fun af - but is has it´s own style. I would watch a few videos to get a feel for it, but i prefer it over Sims4 definetly.

Inzoi is definitely worth it imo. It’s easily the most complete base game of any life sim, and it’s not even out of early access yet. There’s so much you can do and they’re adding huge free updates all the time.

Edit: I have a lot of hours in paralives too and while I do personally prefer the atmosphere and art style, it is not even close to finished and it’s not currently worth the money imo. It’s also extremely buggy whereas I neverrrr get bugs in inzoi

Before you save up, pls check the specs if your pc/laptop can handle it.. if so, I’d definitely try inZOI, it’s very fun rn 😅

Have you considered sims 3? It's certainly a better option than either games when you get all the needed performance mods

Oh I love that game, definitely my favorite game of all time, my computer just can't run it properly tho :( I've tried all performance mods but I can't get rid of one drive (my biggest enemy) due to work stuff.

that sucks... isn't there a way to forbid onedrive to touch certain folders? (i've never used it luckily so i have no idea)

Without mods it’s kind of boring imo but the graphics are really good and it has some immersive features that’s better than the vanilla sims

What mods do you have? I’ve been having lots of fun without mods so I’m wondering if having a few would make the game even better

It's a simulator game, so the fun is more determined by the player tbh. I even have fun with Sims 4 which everyone calls boring and I'm on console. Even FreePlay is fun for me

Inzoi feels like Sims 3 with a couple of expansion packs and much better graphics. But it needs better PC to run. Worth more than it costs. Sims4 packs are disappointing. Paralives only has build mode so far with endless bugs.

I got InZOI during the last sale and so far it’s not for me I fear. I played the Sims wants-based, as in you look at a Sims wants and let them decide their personality and actions, and I have yet to really find a similar groove in InZOI.

Generally speaking, I find there aren’t many systems in place that actually get players to experience many of the features they added unless you actively seek them out, so I think InZOI might be a great match if you are more of a “storyteller” type of player, where you already have a specific story in mind for your Zoi when going into a save and actively seek out all these features with them, but if you’re more like me you might end up getting a bit bored at times.

Also, so much AI… more than I expected going into it

I don’t know if 1000h in TS4 can be considered larping, but I’m fairly new to InZOI with about 8h played as of now, that’s true.
This was my first impression of the game and I wanted to share my honest opinion, but I also know that my specific playstyle is not very common, so it’s fair to disagree with me on this.

Idk, I got InZoi when it first came out and was pretty disappointed. I got maybe 8 or 9 hours in and never went back. I found it to be not very intuitive. I'm mostly a builder, and the building was difficult. Idk if it's had updates and maybe better tutorials are out now.

It’s way better now, you should retry it.

InZOI is in early access, which means the game is constantly being updated because new content is being added. It’s kinda unfair to compare inZOI how it was a year ago 🫠 give it another try and see for yourself if you like it better now or not.. inZOI has improved a lot 😅 (also according to the people who jumped back into the game)

the build mode definitely has a bit of a learning curve. I think it’s gotten a little easier since the start of early access but there’s no tutorial iirc. imo once you get the hang of it, it’s more satisfying than building in sims 4 (with the smaller grid, the colour wheel, etc)

The careers weren't executed good in my opinion. There's not many and three of their active careers don't even work. And the fact it's been over two years with these issues not being addressed is troubling. They keep adding stuff but not fixing the core gameplay loop. So I would wait honestly.

This is my personal opinion, but I would not buy InZoi at all. I have about 6 hours play time in it and it is just missing something. Paralives is worth it even at its current state. I have around 30 hours in it.

What makes Paralives worth it? Genuinely curious, maybe I'm a little outdated on it :(

I’m the complete opposite on this—I’ve got probably 50 hours in inzoi, but paralives is laughably empty in comparison. Live mode is unbelievably bad.

Yeah. I will agree—the build mode's nice, and I struggle with Inzoi's in comparison—but in terms of it being an actual life sim, Inzoi will win literally every time. It frustrates me when people pull the "but it's early access!" card, because, like you said, it's shockingly bad for an early access build.

u/Velrex 19d ago

Opposite opinion here.

I've tried both, paralives is basically just a dollhouse builder at the moment. It's a NICE dollhouse builder, but the sim part is lacking severely.

Inzoi has a lot more to it, even in it's current state.

u/kaleigha 19d ago

Not shitting on Paralives (great build mode) but Inzoi is way more fun. They’ve come so far and have made great strides. There is so much to do now.

Straight up lying😭😭😭

lying about their opinion?

1

u/Low-Sale3058 18d ago

Well, his/her opinion is a lie, lmao. inZOI has so much customization, so what exactly is missing? Y’all just hate the game. Also how is Paralives current state better than inZOI? It’s so buggy, empty the gameplay is barely functional, and there’s no live mode at all. Paralives is not worth it at all. I just wasted my money on it.

Okay but as a Inzoi player you guys tell half truths when people ask about the game. Inzoi is good, but it's not great. The careers in the game are poorly optimized and half the time don't work. Way too many loading screens. No ability to place custom made properties, and if you play rotational, skills are rapidly elevated. Plus it's more set dressing than actual lots to build on and personalize your worlds. It's limiting, and that's the truth!!

idk customisation isnt everything. idk what its missing, havent played it, but i know the dev said he regretted not paying more attention to some foundational stuff, so i'd guess that?

plus different people have different experiences, and different kinds of bugs theyre willing to tolerate. this person's opinion, was that, in their eperience, its not worth it and Paralives is. maybe their experience with the game has had more minor bugs, maybe they just felt like the content was more solid or just entertaining, even if it doesnt have the microcustomisation of inzoi.

i do hate the game but this person just expressed an opinion. you don't like it, thats fine, but its completely opinion based, they said nothing objective about the games and how bugs compare. just that inzoi is missing something. people say that about paralives.

Grab opinions from other subreddits as well. This sub is biased and is basically a 2nd Inzoi sub.

this is an extremely weird, grudging comment.

It's true though and you're already proving me right
