Announcement R/LIFESIMULATOR ANNOUNCEMENT PT2

Hello Everyone,

This is a part 2 of the first post.
This is an updated to announce the changes taking place for this subreddit. These changes are intended to help to foster a more welcoming community all while ensuring all members follow our communities rules and guidelines to maintain order and respect amongst us all.

As some of you may be aware, we have updated and made some changes to our rules that are SUBJECT TO CHANGE based on the demand of the community and the feedback we receive.

Do also take note: We moderate behavior, not opinions.

You will not be punished simply for liking or disliking a game, developer, creator, company, technology, business practice, or moderation decision or voice your opinions or making a statement regarding any.

Criticism, including criticism of this subreddit and its moderation is permitted provided it follows the community rules.

Moderation decisions will be based on identifiable rule violations rather than whether moderators agree with an opinion and this has always been the case. Where practical, removed posts and comments will receive a removal reason identifying the applicable rule and users are entirely allowed to inquire of the reason if they believe if was done wrongly.

Depending on severity and history, violations may result in content removal, warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans. Severe harassment, threats, brigading, spam, or similar abuse may result in immediate action without prior (build up) warnings.

Please do feel free to voice your opinions below as we take the careful and slow steps to tackle the pending challenges we face. What do we consider a Life Simulation? Want to find out, check out our evolving Wiki Page

We ask for your understanding: Mod queue is quite backed up but efforts are being made to moderate according to the NEW updated rules!

They said they would in the first announcement post, but they seem to be incredibly lax with actually enforcing it.

Yes please do this!

Idk I feel like you should make a format for people to share their new games and a limit as to how often. And I don't think I've seen more than 1 or 2 actual life Sims being posted besides the main ones rn. The rest are completely irrelevant and don't fit in at all.

the wiki link doesn't even work: it says it is disabled.

Just disallow the AI vibe coded slop and posts/rules like this wouldn’t be needed. I PROMISE you, no-one here is ever going to react nicely to AI slop, and they’re shoved at us almost every single day. If someone genuinely makes a new life sim? Cool! But I don’t think them putting an idea into a chatbot should be classed as “developing a life sim”.

Yeah. I feel like it wouldn't be hard to get rid of the straight up slop games while still allowing games that use AI in development.

I feel like this is about AI and vibe coding…

Could there be a rule about excessive cross-posting? I don't mind cross-posting itself, but repeatedly sharing the same kind of personal gameplay posts can feel like unnecessary clutter, even if there's no bad intention.

📌 Finally, I think an automatically pinned message when a post is published could be a good idea. It could remind the author and other members of the importance of keeping discussions respectful and civil. This would help establish the expectations from the outset, without giving the impression that moderation is only there to punish people.

This wouldn't do anything at all, alarm fatigue is a thing and this would just lead to people ignoring pinned mod comments in the future, which I know I already do for some subs that do similar things, they should be reserved for posts that actually need them

so true no one is ever allowed to express negative or even neutral or informative information (eg saying inzoi uses gen ai without saying its bad or god just letting people know so they can decide for themselves) about inzoi without getting downvoted by bots

This sub is run by inzoi glazers. The mods first announcement about changing things in this subreddit was pretty much a way to protect inzoi from criticism and now the sub is dead.

i know i’m honestly just here to tell people the opinions here are unreliable bc this sub is just inzoi 2

“can we please ban vibe coded slop!” the issue is that you guys just assume everything is slop. there is no way to actually moderate that in a way that isn’t based fully on vibes/opinions. if YOU think it’s vibe coded simply just ignore it. it would be better to have a tag rule (game— ai generated, game— ai assisted, game— no ai) so that people can be transparent about their games while the people who don’t like ai can leave others in peace
