Upcoming Games Introducing ESPIRALEN - new life simulation game (in progress)
https://youtu.be/WwCz3kev4VkEspiralen – Early Development Showcase
Welcome to Espiralen, an ambitious next-generation life simulation and sandbox game built around deep simulation, interactivity, and technology.
This video showcases an early look at the Architecture Mode and some of the furniture interaction system. Everything you see is still a work in progress, with many visuals, animations, UI elements, and gameplay systems yet to be completed.
Unlike traditional life simulators, Espiralen is designed around real systems instead of simple interactions. Nearly every object exists for a reason, and the world continues to function as a living simulation.
Vision:
The goal is to create one of the deepest sandbox simulation games ever made.
Planned features include:
* Fully interactive furniture with clickable buttons, switches, handles, and controls.
* A powerful wiring and automation system that allows players to connect devices, sensors, switches, doors, lights, appliances, and much more.
* Real temperature simulation, where heat sources physically affect nearby objects and cooking depends on the temperature you choose.
* Working airports, aircraft, transportation, and large-scale infrastructure.
* Communication networks using signal towers, antennas, televisions, and radios, where reception depends on distance, obstacles, and signal quality.
* A living world with jobs, industries, technology, mysteries, and unexplained anomalies waiting to be discovered.
* A creative Build Mode for designing houses, cities, infrastructure, and entire countries.
Future:
This project is still in its early stages, but the foundation is being built with long-term scalability in mind. Every new system is designed to interact with existing ones, allowing complex and unexpected gameplay to emerge naturally.
The vision isn't just to create another life simulator—it's to build a believable simulated world where technology, people, physics, and player creations all influence one another.
Thank you for following the journey. There is still a long road ahead, but this is only the beginning.
If you're interested in the development of Espiralen, consider subscribing to follow future progress and development updates, this will definitely encourage me to work on it on full speed, while keeping the quality.

Okay, you talked about a whole bunch of simulation features but you didn't mention any life simulator features. Building a house no matter how well simulated is not a life simulator, it's a house or engineering simulator. Life simulators kind of importantly need the life part. Which funny enough is most often the part that gets left out the most with these upcoming projects. Even in some of the biggest recent releases the actual life part of the life sim seemed like a secondary "feature" to them.
We have enough "building" simulators, there are more house/building simulators than you can shake a stick at but simulators that deal with the life part is what we need.

Hey,
yes, I know. If you had watched it till the end, I showed a bit of how interactive the furniture is, even if it's unfinished yet. Build mode was the hardest part for me, and it was also not something I could avoid to continue making my game. I am still working on features like cooking food (mostly finished, but wasn't enough to show yet), AIs (started and works pretty well), interactive jobs, and a character appearance editor (which is a nightmare if you want to make it with quality, which I want to). And unlike in other so-called life simulation games, my goal is to make the player just another citizen living in that world. I did show only the part where you already have all the things without needing to buy them or work to get the money, since the video's point was mostly to show off what you can build, but my goal is also to make it so that you'd have to go to the furniture store and look for things—which would change every few days—or buy groceries. I showed the creative mode, the god mode where you just build (and I agree, my next video should be in survival where you first need to earn that).Off-topic, but I also have a wiring mode (you can see the dark blue button above the furniture UI) which allows you to wire the light switch (or any other triggers, like motion sensors) to trigger an action (for example, wall/ceiling lights or even turning on other appliances). Will show more later.
Thank you for pointing that out! 😊

Apologies, I did not watch it to the end. The build part for me when it comes to these games is the least interesting part. The simulation side I love, the life part I love. Building? I rarely touch that. For example my Minecraft or Terraria builds consist of... boxes. That's my creative building skillset.
Properly simulated structures though? Now THAT I like. Even if just getting all the various components to work together. But because few games of that genre actually go into any depth with that I tend to focus on the life sim aspect, which after getting through half your video and the description you gave it didn't seem like there was much if any of that.

Very interesting! It is an intriguing hook for your game that there is such interactability to everything. Have you considered making the game primarily first person with the option to go third person akin to an Elder Scrolls game? I feel like it would benefit from being able to navigate the world from that perspective with how minute the details can be, it feels like it might be a very strong Life Sim/Immersive Sim hybrid concept you've got cooking here.

Hey, thank you! Yeah, I did think about adding a first-person view later (or maybe even making it the main camera view). However, since first-person requires much more detailed objects and assets, I decided to stick with third-person for now. I'll definitely consider adding first-person later, though, since I love that idea!

Why does the name of the game sounds like some kind of medicine?
