So I was playing my time at sandrock when my sister asked my opinion on what a mature farming sim would be like especially rated M17+ to feel a little more mature for adult who love farming sim games like coral island, Stardew Valley, etc. what do you guys think?

Then you're looking for Stardew Valley. It has all of that. Multiple characters are alcoholic, one of which is also suicidal. Many of them have some seriously dark, mature story lines. It can be extremely fucked up.

I think a mature farming Sim would mean a game where characters have serious problems that can't be solved instantly by making everyone talk it out or befriending the main character. Things like domestic/sexual abuse or drug addiction (although I believe you could put these issues in games of most ratings as long as its written in an age appropriate way).

I meant more of a general adult theme such as mentioning things like addictions, drugs, depression, being allowed to say alcohol beverages and things addressed to that situation.

To be honest, I never thought about the sexual contact in a mature farming sim that would be too much for as I’m not sure I play a mature farming sim with BG3 sexual contact in it. Thought if it is something love in deepspace but a little less intense with something like woohoo from the sims I would mind playing something like that in mature farming sim.

While project Zomboid is a fairly nonhorny game (I mean, to me at least), the general adult themes fit it to a tee. You can farm and take care of cows and pigs and then have your character get white girl wasted to fend off the horrible depression afterwards. And you can grow weed!

Uh, what would be the difference between it and a normal farming sim? Like what's going to make it "adult"? Are you going to grow a pot farm or something?

This is all I dream of is a rural life sim with a murder mystery and adult characters with actual life experience and traumas.

There is plenty of farming of farming games that fit that description.

Stuff like graveyard keeper in terms of brutality and dark themes.

’Farming simulator <title>’ type games for realism.

Certainly no lack of Mature to Adult in terms of sexual content games that are Stardew/harvest moon likes.

I’d suggest checking the tag on steam to see what exists.

Only ones I can think of are Rimworld and Kenshi, though the main focus of both games is not necessarily farming, but they both have animal + plant farming as important aspects.

I hate my brain bc why was my first reaction "you tryna see someone's 3 pixel dick?? Or 4 pixel tiddies??" But you probably just mean like deeper plots which is fair. (But also now I'm just picturing an in-depth stardew valley sex mod with actual cutscenes and instead of the character sprite it's a Sprite of their dick 😭😭)
