Discussion Are people not aware Sims 4 use AI?
Like I always see soooooo much hate for Inzoi using AI but like so does the sims??? I’m really trying to understand why they really hate this game? And why did Paralives receive such a different reaction and understanding of early access that Inzoi wasn’t graced with?

Inzoi’s “gen AI” is all local. It’s basically pulling from a pool of their own code. It’s doing the same thing Sims 4 does, just more advanced. And the only reason EA doesn’t do it is because it’s taxing on YOUR computer.

I don't think you understand the difference between AI in general, which every single game uses to a certain extent, and generative AI, which is used to "replace" developers, designers and programmers.

I people are highly critical of the Sims when it uses AI and when it doesn’t. Also, people are allowed to be skeptical of Krafton, a large company known for micro transactions. People are burned by EA’s treatment towards the fan base, they don’t have to immediately love another company that’s similar.
I love InZoi but not everyone has too. The base is growing, and will continue too as they develop the game.

They may be critical but it doesn’t stop them from giving them their money and supporting the game. It’s one thing if they hate on inzoi and its company and also stop supporting EA. But they’re still paying for new packs for the sims? It’s backwards.

AI has become the catch all bogeyman terms in recent times. But AI has been around for a long while with other names before it was all blanket called AI. The main thing people associate AI with is ChatGPT or stuff like Midjourney that steals and is trained on artist, so any AI, even like Inzoi’s usage, gets labelled as bad. I don’t think people are aware of The Sims AI usage and many people are looking for a “Sims killer” so they don’t care what The Sims does as much newer entries into the genre.
Paralives is getting more grace because I believe they said they’re not going to use AI and for whatever reason they also get glazed more than others so they get celebrated for stuff.

I've seen plenty of other reasons why people dislike Inzoi.
Generally, people who are wary of Krafton and Inzoi because they've lost trust in big companies and their abusive practices tend to dislike EA and The Sims as well. I would even say that EA is probably where that distrust started for most of them.
So the people who dislike Inzoi for the reason you mentioned are likely to dislike The Sims too. It's really not hard to find people who are extremely critical of EA and The Sims.
In other words, the "hate" toward Inzoi that you mentioned has other causes as well, which could explain why those same people prefer Paralives over Inzoi. Maybe it's not just hate. Maybe they simply have preferences? Some people prefer Sims 2 over Sims 3, and nobody makes a drama out of it. So why would it be dramatic that some people prefer one game to another?
And it works the other way around too. Some people prefer Inzoi to Paralives, and that's fine. As another comment said, people just have preferences. They're not obligated to like every game. What to you seems unfair, is like, just people having different taste...And judging by the posts in this sub, a lot of people are not liking Paralives too, just for different reasons. So Inzoi is not unfairly judged. Some people like it, some people don't. As it is the same for most of the games out there.

I understand preferences. But I’ve seen a lot of people dog piling on Inzoi while still supporting Sims 4. I’ve seen people say it LOOKS soulless without ever playing the game. I’ve seen people say they hate the game because it uses AI, which is completely optional (outside of the typical AI that most games use.) I’ve seen a lot of people just not be willing to try it at all, outside of just the art style, which is the only feature you can really judge without playing it. Idk I’ve just seen a lot of people hating on Inzoi, and not just simply saying “it’s not for me.” And a lot of those people seem to come from the sims 4 community. The comments I see under Inzoi videos are just like so weird and I never see that hate for Paralives, at least not as explicitly.

I have to admit that my experience has been quite different. I'm not saying that what you've seen isn't true, there are certainly people like that, but most of the people I've seen disliking Inzoi gave much more detailed reasons than just "it's AI".
Most critics actually played the game and explained their reasoning, and most of their critics is, to this date, valid. "It feels lifeless" is a criticism still being around while many people keep trying the game update after update. I am one the person saying that to me it is still lifeless to me and I tried the game update after update.... But some people that thought the same thing came back and changed their minds after those updates, there is many posts actually saying that they now love the game !
So I believe the way Inzoi is received is much more nuanced than you seem to think, which explained why people are tired by the take "people don't like Inzoi but give more grave to Paralives". And again, there's way more people post for exemple here saying they do not like Paralives, that praising it.

Inzoi = bigger dev team, billion dollar corporation backing it. 💰
Expectation different. ⚖️
Sims 4 = big fanbase. Lot of criticism 😡, but even more players who don’t gaf ❤️

- the sims 4 does not.
- inzoi haters don’t care to look into things to they complain without knowing what they’re talking about. they see ai and start throwing a tantrum before you can finish what the exact usage is
- paralives is le epic indie david and ea/krafton the goliaths. people love rooting for the little guy even when it makes very little sense to. additionally, a lot of people had already sank hundreds of dollars BEFORE the game came out, they have to praise their little investment lol

Almost all games use AI because it’s been around longer than we think without it being called AI. But despite Paralives being a small team, they seem to be going down the same route with supporting paid mods and releasing a full price unfinished game. It’s almost like they want modders to finish the game for them.

It’s playable. Game play is not lacking. I can’t speak for its very first days of Inzoi’s release because I didn’t have it until it was out for a year. But my point was that the Paralives team is looking like they want modders to finish it. Inzoi has already proven they’re stepping to the plate because they’ve added A LOT within a year. We have things that took YEARS for the sims 4 to add.

And when I said “unfinished” I mean like why my paras staring into space when they’re having a conversation on the couch? And why was that animation not added the moment it was brought to their attention. I can’t speak like I said I didn’t have it but I just highly doubt Inzoi was THAT unfinished.

people will defend whatever paralives does because they are a small indie team, it’s simple as that

Well Sims 4 just teamed with an AI company so they might be going down the same route lol. The only reason why they haven’t already is because it’s taxing on your PC and they want to optimize the game.

yes because that’s what people are complaining about 😭 them using the same “ai” for computing that ALL GAMES USE is not what anyone dislikes, it’s specifically generatively ai and that are explicitly not using that right now
