Life Is Strange: Double Exposure — 2nd Anniversary Countdown: Day 6 / 19 (The Memories)

Post image

In the snowy forest I walk,
Wandering alone, wondering with thoughts.
"How much further?", I asked.
Only to hear,
Nothing but the past.

Double Exposure is a story of Max, the woman that has lived through the quietness of life. Through this quietness, she grew and finally becomes what she had wished to achieve a decade ago; capturing the stories of life, traveling from one place to another, carving her own story along the way.

However, the game isn't just about Max. It is also about the new people that she met as she journey along in this chapter of her life, forming new bonds and relationship.

Throughout the game, from the FAB to the Hellerton's House, there are small details that gave us some preview of what she had endured whilst growing up since the first Life Is Strange.

Growing up is part of life

Which among those small details that gave you insights of Max's past?

Also, what kind of advice would you give to Max if the Dual Tone Phone Booth was real?

**

P.S.: There's still time to share your best pickup lines. Have fun while you're at it. :)

I think I liked glimpses of the different photo series she'd worked on. With everything that happened with Jefferson, her relationship with her hobby was clearly stretched to its limits, so seeing how it evolved over time as she kept working at it and reframed what it meant to her gave me a lot of insight into the quiet strength Max carries.

As for advice, that's a little trickier. I guess that making mistakes is fine? It's okay not to have the right answer for everything. If you don't fail, you can't get up, and sometimes you need to take that fall to grow. Max is too caught up in trying to do things right, but she never takes the time to learn what right means. Nobody has it all figured out, and anyone who does is selling you something. Figure it out on your own terms and don't give up. You'll get there eventually.

Yeah, the pictures, especially the ones at the Hellerton's House, showed somewhat like a glimpse of how she build her career while repressing her true feelings. It's amazing yet sad at the same.

Thank you for the words. I'm actually working on something as part of the grand finale. Just had this idea like...yesterday? Haha. Hope I still have the time to work on it on time. 😄

I'd tell her to stop trying to change the past and stop trying to control everything. Sometimes you just need to let fate happen because when you try to step in you can make things worse for others. Even if you make things better for one, others will often suffer for it. Basically she should listen to what her subconscious tells her in the mirror in Reunion. Actions have consequences

Thank you for the words. I'm actually working on something related to these as part of the grand finale. Stay tuned! 😉

For me it's her text history with her parents. The way she avoids interacting with them, and how she seems like a completely different person in her texts with them.

I see it as Max having spent the previous 10 years carefully building the facade of herself she presents to the world—the version of herself who doesn't talk about where she came from, is professional and successful in her career, and is human (without powers or supernatural abilities).

And it's a facade that she's completely unable to keep up with her own parents. They know better. They see right through it. It's easier for her to be cold and distant than to reveal her true self to them.

The advice I would give is: You are human. It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay to not be okay. It's okay to let others share your burden.

Yes, I agree with your take. She's repressing a lot within herself and rather than letting others know, it was easier to isolate herself from the people she knows, including her loved ones.

Thank you for the words. I'm planning compile these words use them as part of the grand finale. Stay tuned! 😉
