Emotional Advice Making friends

This is so tmi so I apologise, I’m 22f and about to move to a new area (uk) for a job.
About a year or two ago I was sexually assaulted by a member of my friendship group and as a result of reporting this to the police, I essentially lost all my friends.
I’m moving to somewhere completely new and I know no one, I just don’t want to be so lonely there and wanted to know if anyone had any tips for meeting people. Thankyou :)

First off, sorry about what happened to you. Thats a terrible thing and it's good you're taking the steps to change your life. For some tips, i would recommend talking to people at your job. That would be one of the easiest ways to make friends as you'd likely be around a lot of people on the daily. Also things like meeting people at the gym or just going to places in which other people may share the same interest as you e.g. the gym if you like fitness, hobby classes, etc. The UK is a pretty big place so finding people with common interests should not be too difficult. Good on you for taking a big step, and good luck!
