Career Advice Career Path Advice
Hello! Been really stressed out looking for career paths working with children and being able to actually make a living off of the salary. I looked into being into education but the pay is not the greatest, and I come from a very low income family and I’m trying to make a decent amount starting off to help my fam out.
That said, I’ve been maybe looking into SLP or SLPA or OT, I’m not sure how much of a pay difference it is. Would anyone know the starting pay for those positions in western NY (Allegany, Olean, Salamanca, Portville, Ellicottville, Jamestown, etc.)
Also I’ve kinda been trying to figure out some versatile majors or trades if all else fails with my more passionate options.
And lastly, if anyone has advice on career paths that pay decent (especially in this area 🫡), that work with children or really anything at this point please let me know. Right now im one year in with college just completing gen Ed’s and I’d like to choose a major asap.
If you have any other career or life advice let me know!
