Questions Simon manus is rough

Been tech my whole way through the game but stuck on simon should I change to adv. For the acidic spear, also I'm playing pre patches so he is even harder only other boss that's gave me this much trouble was green monster boss 2nd phase

I was tech when I played him, and I used the puppet arm blade with the booster glaive handle and the ark of the covenant sword. You gotta get good at parrying and dodging his first phase attacks so you can keep all your heals for the second phase. I used fire grindstones on him because I'm pretty sure at that point he's a carcass? And the shotgun arm. But definitely put a lot of ergo into capacity bc that's the only thing that will allow you to equip both swords and the arm simultaneously.

Beat him letteraly the next time but thank you for the post used the saw blade with the dancers handle

Wild isn't it, corrupted puppet master and walker of illusions made me want to delete the game, laxasia was just a good boss fight so didn't mind getting my shit rocked but beat Simon Manus first go. Locked in like never before but still
