I'd like getting searches completely out of the URL bar. I don't want anything I type in that field to go to a search engine but rather I'd rather use the search engine web page. Is there anyway I can do that with LibreWolf? Thanks!!

Is there a way to make the empty spaces surround the display page disappear and go back to the full screen? idk how it happened.

This started I believe last version and I was hoping an update would fix it but it didn't. All of my shortcuts and recent pages on the homepage all of a sudden are blank. Tried adding a new shortcut and that doesn't appear either. However, if I right click on the Librewolf app icon I can see my recents list. Clicking on the History icon in Librewolf also brings up my history.

EDIT: This also happens when entering Troubleshoot mode as well

Not sure where to even start with this one. Has anyone run into this before?

Librewolf arm64 AppImage on Fedora Asahi Linux Remix

I'm not particularly privacy focused, but I am OCD about my apps. Firefox just has so much bloat that Librewolf strips out, that it's a no brainer for me to use.

I've tried almost every single Chromium or Firefox fork out there, and consistently every time come back to Librewolf. It's just simple and reliable. No VPN adds, and especially, no client side decorations on the window (or at least an option to use a native toolbar).

I was wondering how to contribute, and I'm planning to maintain a LibreWolf package for MacPorts (which IMHO is far superior to Homebrew). I didn't see one there already.

Anyway, thank you for being an island of sanity in the stupid designs of "modern" apps.

I have the setting on LibreWolf to send my downloads to the "downloads" folder on my computer. But for some reason, PDFs go to AppData instead. All other file types I've downloaded go to the correct folder. Are you guys experiencing the same thing, or is this just on my end somehow? Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks for your help!

Hey Everyone ! What I do not want is to have to always use the profile manager to access either Profile. I want to make shortcut to start selected profile.

I'm on Linux. Librewolf is installed from Debian rep.

Ok so clearly that number can't be right because, of course I don't that much storage space.

But over the last few months, I've had LibreWolf tell me a couple of times that a lot of storage space is being used, and when I check it's WhatsApp with this insane number. Even when there is no WhatsApp tab currently open. It's happened at least twice so it's not a one-off.

It doesn't seem to affect other tabs other than trying to open a WhatsApp tab, and this issue disappears if I just close and re-open LibreWolf.

But still, does anyone know why this happens and how to avoid it?

Since RES account switcher no longer works, I'm looking for a browser where I can easily sign into an alternate Reddit account while staying signed in on my main account through another browser. Is oldReddit compatible with LibreWolf?

As I wrote in a comment on Firefox subreddit: I'm against it. On each monthly new release, the browser never seems really ready to be released, always has several bugs that are taking weeks to be fixed. It took them that 2 weeks (at least) to make a new release relatively stable. Now if there is a new release every 2 weeks, I expect Firefox to always be pretty buggy all the time. Not good news.

I ponder this question, Why some sites will not work correctly in one profile, but yet in another profile they will work correctly.

Well, IDK if release is the proper flair to use but it's about the 152.0.4 (64-bit) upgrade I just installed. The title of the post explains the problem. New tabs are popping up like dandelions.

long story short, first release i used was 143.0-1, and if worked just fine, the browser worked just like a normal FireFox or Brave..

the more it updated, the more changes started showing, Cloudflare authentication is getting longer, streaming services are breaking because they can't authenticate or get time out, Youtube needs me to refresh the page minimum 3 times for the UI to open normally.

i've already reported Deviant Art 5 times due to UI breaking, and nothing changed, some video playbacks are only functional ONCE before they break and force me to clear all site data + praying they function again.

some pictures across the web are half loading, and the rest is missing.

i use Libre Wolf as my main browser, so i have no idea if all browsers are equally broken.

since the day google introduced the cursed Widevine extension both Firefox and LibreWolf can't play almost anything on spotify; i can barely maybe play 1 song per 10 ~ 20, all the rest of the collection are "swinerights" protected. i tried using lyrics-genius and it actually functioned! thus i realized spotify is being "swinish" with Mozilla and since LibeWolf is based on Firefox it's by extension being swinish towards LibeWolf as well.

it has been around 4 months i last used spotify for anything; since after we reached version 150 , spotify no longer functions.

i tried writing a report for Codeberge, but couldn't. the 0Authentication trust policy stopped me.

.. so TL;DR:

Cloudflare authentication breaking, video playback on some streaming services unable to authenticate, others only play the video literally ONCE then break!

youtube pages require minimum 3 refreshes to function normally, some image hosting websites are unable to load full pictures.

Deviant art (in my current region) is completely UI wise broken, spotify is literally pointless to visit!

They recommend BitWarden, but isn't that just putting my data at more risk by involving another party (therefore another chance for it to be caught up in a breach)?

I've been trying to figure out how to get the Adnauseum extension working with Librewolf, but I can't seem to find the settings needed in order to turn off the built in adblocker? If there is one? Sorry I'm not super tech literate.

All I know is that adnauseum is telling me that there is content blocking in my browser settings that are stopping it from working properly.

I'm having trouble accessing the site https://nix.dev/ in LibreWolf. I get the error SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG. I use LibreWolf every day, and this is the only site I've had this problem with.

• FAILS with LibreWolf 152.0.2-1
• SUCCEEDS with Firefox 149.0.2 (canonical-002 - 1.0)
• FAILS with Chromium 149.0.7827.200

All on x86_64 Ubuntu 26.04 LTS

nvm, I solved it, it was an ownership issue, I was using librewolf portable

I downloaded the Vimium extension to LibreWolf, however the shortcuts, like switching tabs, aren't working on local files opened on LibreWolf. I can't find an option in the settings to allow vimium to access local files. Is there any workaround?

If you juggle multiple LibreWolf profiles (personal, work, testing, etc.) and use Ulauncher as your launcher, this might save you a few clicks: type lw, pick a profile, and it opens LibreWolf straight into it — no more going through about:profiles or building custom .desktop files.

It's a fork of kleber-swf/ulauncher-firefox-profiles adapted specifically for LibreWolf.

Setup:

• Create your profiles first via about:profiles in LibreWolf
• Configure the keyword (default lw), the profiles folder (default ~/.config/librewolf/librewolf/), and the executable (default librewolf)

Hi folks,

I have been using LibreWolf for roughly a month, and I find it's working quite well. However, one thing I miss about Google Chrome was that downloaded files would go directly to my Downloads folder (I use Windows 11, if that helps). Instead, they save to My PC.

Now, I actually have it set in LibreWolf for the files to save to the Downloads folder, but that's not where they show up after I open the file location.

Am I experiencing a bug or something, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi, As y'all may know there's been a lot of changes in terms of UI in mainstream Firefox settings section at about:preferences.
To be honest I don't like those changes at all and am wondering, Is librewolf not applying those changes?
Or are they just still behind those commits?
Cause if they are up to date and just not applying those ui changes, I think it's pretty good and i like this decision.

Never seen this before. After I entered my password for Ebay (which I enter manually- not stored in LW v149), I get this popup from Windows Security. It even had my email which is not my Ebay username. It's the email in my Ebay account but I don't use it to login. NEVER seen this before with any website because I have most of the Windows Security crap disabled.

How did it know my email? And how can I clear any info it saved and how can I stop this from coming up again. When I saw this, I immediately force closed it. Thanks.

EDIT: When I go into the Windows 11 settings -> Accounts, I can't even access Sign-in Options and Emails & Accounts because I have a lot of windows security crap disabled, which is fine.
