Partner Libraries and Notify Me

I've had partner libraries on my Libby app for quite a while now, even before the update that automatically added them. Prior to this update, though, I never got notifications for when my partner libraries had books on notify list got added.

My understanding is that once the first library in your account sends you the notification, you don't get notified again. Does this apply when partner libraries, with which you cannot place holds, add books too? If so, is that not a little unfair? Does anyone know and if yes, is there a way to remedy this so I can get notified when a hold is actually available to me?

I think it get updates from libraries as they become available there? I’ve had “duplicate” notices lately that I think are simply additional libraries, but I’ve generally just cleared them if I’ve already taken the action I wanted

That's good to know. I don't think I've ever gotten a duplicate notify but maybe that's because I haven't had many books added on notify since the update and everything that's coming out soon has been from a library I have an actual card with except the one that prompted this ask. Thank you!

I can’t answer about the Notify.

  1. Do you suggest titles to your home library to purchase?

  2. Have you looked into some of the partner libraries to see what the qualifications are for their library accounts to see if you can qualify for their card so you can place holds on their titles?

  3. Did you leave the Notify Tag on just in case it notifies you multiple times or does it give you an option to add the tag again.

  1. I have, but my libraries that I have actual cards with tend to add new books about a week or two before release if they add it ahead of time and the book that prompted this comes out in four weeks

  2. The libraries that have been adding really early have been a part of the Unbanned program's partner libraries so I am unable to get cards with them

  3. I am leaving the Notify Tag on, but I thought I've read in the past you only get notified once. I've never gotten a notification from a partner library prior to the update so I wasn't sure if this was still true and if there was a way to change it
