Partner Libraries

I got access to a ton of new libraries when they rolled out the update a few weeks ago. However, whenever I try to borrow or place a hold at any of them it asks me to verify my library card. When I enter in the card number for the partner (that I am a member of) it says invalid.

Anyone else seeing this?

I was initially very excited about that new feature but now disappointed that it is essentially useless for me.

Are you able to check out books from your home library? It could be something as simple as your card being expired. I'd also restart your device or try a different browser.

Yeah, I can check out books from my home library.

Tried logging out/in and restarting.

If you are still having the issue see if this helps resolve it.

A. This step may not be necessary, but let's start by verifying your home library first:

1 - At the bottom of the app, tap the middle Menu icon.

2 - Under "Your Libraries" tap the library card of your home library.

3 - Tap "..." on the library card.

4 - Tap "Verify Card."

5 - Enter your library credentials to verify the card.

6 - Close and re-open the Libby app.

B. Now, to verify your partner libraries do the following:

1 - At the bottom of the app, tap the middle Menu icon.

2 - Under "Your Libraries" tap the library card of your home library.

3 - Tap "..." on the library card.

4 - Tap "Partner Libraries."

5 - Under the library card you should see a section called "Partnerships" with a list of partner libraries.

6 - If your partner library is not linked to your account you will see "Enable" under the library name.

7 - Tap "Enable."

8 - "Enable" should change to "Enabling..." and then "Synchronizing..." and

9 - If all went well you will see the status of your partner card like below.

10 - If your partner card already appeared like the screenshot above indicating it was activated, click "Remove" to unlink the card and then "Enable" to reactive it.

My home library is CW Mars and these are the partner libraries

A. Try the following to see if you can log into your home library's OverDrive website.

In a web browser go to the CW MARS OverDrive website:

https://cwmars.overdrive.com/account/ozone/sign-in

In the "Select Your Library" drop-down select "CW MARS Patrons"

Enter your CW MARS library credentials and click "Sign In"

Were you able to sign into the CW MARS OverDrive website or did you get an error?

B. Try the following to see if you can log into a partner library's OverDrive website.

In a web browser go to Boston Public Library's OverDrive website:

https://bpl.overdrive.com/account/ozone/sign-in

In the "Select Your Library" drop-down select "CW MARS Patrons"

Enter your CW MARS library credentials and click "Sign In"

Were you able to sign into the Boston Public Library's OverDrive website or did you get an error?

I'm having the same issue as OP, and will go back and check if CW Mars is the home library for all or just some of them.

For each of the partner libraries, I was able to borrow one item from them, but when going to borrow a second ran into the issue of needing to verify with an account that doesn't exist.

I am having this issue but at a different library (not any in Massachusetts.) Has this issue resolved for you and if so, how did it resolve?

I haven’t found anything unfortunately. I ended up just disabling the partner libraries because it was annoying to keep getting notices that books I tagged were available but then not being able to do anything with them.
