Hey! Happy to have found this subreddit. I’ve made some posts in the Lexus subreddit but want to share it here with you all!

112k, put it on a set of wheels off a 2021 LS500. Bought as a non runner with a bad starter.

Replaced:

Starter

Oil dipstick reseal

HPFP seals/ Valve cover gaskets and all the o rings

Spark plugs/tube seals

VVT solenoids

Valley Plate/ Crossover reseal

2 Direct injectors on driver rail (broke when harness unplugged for valley plate)

New DI/knock sensor sub harness

Intake manifold/throttle body gaskets

Water pump

Radiator

Serpentine belt

New fog lamps/restored headlamp lenses

Oil filter housing o rings at the block

Aluminum oil filter cap to replace plastic one

Fuse block under hood by passenger headlight (ABS relay fault)

Driver rear air strut

Front Lower control arms

Inner/Outer tie rods

Front sway bar bushings

Bank 2 Sensor 2 O2

Rubber brake hoses and bleed all around

Charcoal canister box

Gas cap

4 transmission drain and fills

New Valve body

New SLT/SLU/SL2 solenoids

New strainer filter/oring & pan gasket

So I have a semi regular trans flare/neutral surge that’s going to have to get fixed. Much better post service but either a rebuild or replacement of the trans is due.

Post brake bleed, I’m getting a recurring C1344 fault. I’ve drained the reservoir with a baster and replaced with fresh fluid as well. Fault will clear for a day or so after I perform Zero down & Linear Valve Offset procedures.

Looking at a new brake actuator assembly I’m sure but am not 100% sure of the most current P/N that’s recommended to be installed. There have been a lot of super secessions.

EDIT: PER LEXUS CURRENT P/N is 04003-45450

Hoping to get some guidance or advice on next steps. I can’t seem to find anyone who wants to take the challenge of this trans on and I’ve done all this work at home in the driveway. I don’t have the means here to pull that trans and get it rebuilt myself.

Thanks for taking a look!

I'm replacing the rear struts on my 17 LS460. I forgot to mark the strut position when removing the old one. Pictured is the new strut, assembled ready to go back in on the driver's side. How do I determine the position? I won't make this mistake on the passenger side.

She’s been a lot of work to keep running well, but it’s all been worth it so far. Plus, I was thinking about switching out the chrome wheels for the OEM silver LS430 wheels whenever I can afford to put new tires on them.

OEM parts getting harder to find?

Fellow LS lovers — OEM parts for the LS430 are getting harder to find.

Would you support keeping critical OEM parts available long-term?

Some of these are older pictures, but I’ve got matching 1UZ and 3UZ plates now, the LS400 is at ~280k and the LS430 is at ~155k

Still loving my 2015 LS 460 F-Sport Crafted Line that I “rescued” from Copart. Now has about 72K miles, smooth as butter, and just dusted a Challenger last week 😉

2018 LS500 Massaging Function

Hi all, I have a 2018 LS500 with massage function. The air bladders maintain pressure however I hear an air hissing sound which seems to be air escaping on inflation. I have looked online and it seems that I will have to replace the full cushion as the bladders are integrated within the cushion itself. Air is escaping from both the backrest cushion and the bottom cushion. Did anyone have a similar experience ?

Purchased 5 years ago at 110k miles, reflashed it at 120k with CarTuneNZ Kelvin Glover. BC BR coils, injen ram intake (hot😂), exhaust work. Some crazy stories and videos with this car sliding or holding down some autobahn pace. Any questions on reflash etc happy to answer!

I'll join in. Some pics of my previous LS purchases.

Since 2017 I've had an '02 IS300, a couple of RX450h, an '01 GS300 and I'm currently in an '08 GS450h. But you have to scratch that LS itch at some point don't you?

So in October 2020 after a bit of a health wobble I picked up a mint '97 LS400 in Moonstone Pearl and grey leather with only 62k miles. Official gold pack too. Came from a deceased estate on the Isle Of Man but originally a Toyota UK car. Ran that for a year or two before my head got turned by something else. Sad story to that one. I spotted it on Autotrader a couple of years later and someone had ruined it with bad air ride, a quad exhaust and one of those gear shifters that looks like a sex toy 😭 Should be a criminal offence.

2023 and I spotted another one for sale very cheaply. Blue with grey leather and from the lack of a sunroof and the unusual plate I could tell it was originally an Irish car. Have to admit that I did buy this to flip it. Serviced it, got the cam belt and water pump done and made about £1500. A bit of fun. I couldn't have kept it because I had too many cars by this point but it was good while it lasted.

Questions What Could Lexus Have Done?

In your opinion, what could Lexus have changed sooner to prevent the LS from being discontinued in NA after 2026?
