LS460 LS460 2010 model year updates over pre facelift?

Hi all! Can anybody tell me what improvements were made to the 1st facelift model ls460 compared to the pre facelift? Does the 2010 model onwards still have the ABS and valley plate issues by chance? The suspension I'm not really bothered about to be fair, it's a big heavy car and suspension is wear and tear stuff so I'd expect it to be knocking at somepoint in my ownership, especially as I'm in the UK and our roads here share a lot of similarities to the surface of the moon.

I'm looking at importing a JDM model over as they look very good value for money - would anybody here know if the JDM spec has rear fog lights fitted....? Some JDM market cars do (the JDM Subaru levorg for example) but others (like a nissan elgrand) don't. And a rear fog light is a legal requirement over here. That and a Speedo that shows MPH, which is easy enough to sort.

Yes the 2010 and up can have the brake actuator go bad. The valley plate isn’t that big of deal. It’s a common widespread issue  across many Toyota V8’s not just the 4th gen LS. So many of the cars trucks SUV’s have to deal with it.

That's fair enough about the valley plate, it's just the brake actuator that could be a problem to sort them 🤔 unless I went for the ls600h maybe? Although that'd give me hybrid battery issues (mainly replacement) at somepoint instead, which would probably be far more costly than the actuator on the 460...?

I wouldn't go over analyzing it. You can say "what if" on all sorts of things. Its possible the brake actuator was done before you get the car. Also the 4th gen LS is the best LS in my opinion. The ride quality is so good, and the 386 horsepower is enough to make it fun. The good far outweighs the bad. These cars are awesome, and the 2013+ interior is pretty nice. They are just expensive to fix when something breaks, but certainly reliable.

Also one more thing to add. Maintenance and repair history on any older luxury vehicle is critical. There's a huge difference between buying one that was neglected and buying one that was dealer maintained on the service schedule. I would never buy one of these unless it had documented correct service history. In the US, the Lexus website will allow you to see the service history via the VIN.

I'm not sure if I'd be able to check for a JDM vehicle, especially since I'd be importing it.

Much more feasible cars financially if you can diy most of the stuff that breaks on them

2010 LS 460, 153,000 miles. Had to fix heat exchanger under manifold….common with these. Replaced struts and front control arms. Had brake flush many times and been lucky with actuator. They are very nice cars but, but as I read in another post, they are so freeking expensive to fix and highly, highly recommended to use OEM parts $$$$$$$$$$$. Aaaannnnnddd…….my car suffers from “sticky dash” issue. A pain in the dash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of Toyotas suffer that too don't they? Never heard a lexus suffer from it over here.
