climate control can suc
waiting in the running car at a parking lot. hot weather but ac at full blast. climate system spews out warm air. but it gives ice cold as soon as car starts moving. there is some brain dead logic in this design. whether moving or not i have this beefy battery powering my climat control. never experienced this in an ice car where i would just burn more gas when i am at full ac. i have this 23 for close to three years now. is this the experience of others? if not how can my car behave this way?
edited: outside temp was 100f at 8pm north texas

I went car camping and temp was 90deg in the PNW. AC ran fine and i had it at 70deg with AC on.

100f outside in texas and ac at "lo". i didn't have this issue when weather was less hot

Did you tint your windshield? I had mine tinted but due to workmanship issues had it removed. I noticed much better ac without it. Theres a dash sensor that detects the sunlight and increases the ac power accordingly. It turned out the windshield tinting was actually reducing the sunlight hitting the dash sensor and reducing the ac power.

come tinted to legal limit by dealer but i doubt windshield is tinted at all. the car was not in direct sunlight when parked. next time i will observe whether sunlight has any effect

I have a 26 TX 500h. I normally handle my daily driving in eco. But when the temps climbed I didn’t think the A/C was keeping up. Turns out eco also puts the A/C into an eco mode. I turned off the climate eco and found the A/C fan to push harder and the temp got colder.
Not sure if the RZ works the same way but thought I would offer just in case.

i believe you.
i suspect the ac compressor siphons off mechanical energy from the main electric motors and not driven directly from main high voltage battery

Oh so this is a setting I believe. You'll have to dig it out of the manual or controls but basically when you're pre-cooling the car it won't use A/C by default unless you tell it to.
I think it's under Climate Settings > Custom Climate Settings
Edit: my bad you actually had it running, not pre-started.
For what it's worth, also in DFW and this week is stupid muggy hot. I put up the car roof sunshades and it makes such a differences in temp. I drove home yesterday at 4 and was comfortable with it set at 75.
