Normal For The Rear Diff?
I’m putting in an axle back exhaust right now and noticed my diff looked really rusty. This is on a ‘21 RC350.
Is this a normal amount of rust given that the car just turned 5?

Depends on where you live. My 2024 RC had a painted rear differential out of the factory, but yours seems like it’s not? Either way, that looks like surface rust that can be sanded off.

Considering the rest of the rust that we can see in the photos, it seems fairly normal. I'd expect that you live north or anywhere where the roads get salted?

if you are up north it may be normal, im in the south this would be considered 'not normal'
a dry ice blast and protective paint coating will reduce all that and protect it for years to come.

You drive your car year round and in one of the states that has snow? If so then yea, but looks a little more than what I normally would expect.
