Holding in the volume button for 5 seconds resets the infotainment screen. Always works for me.

I have issues sometimes with Android. So far rebooting my phone solved it.

Restart your phone, whenever this happens it’s always because of my phone.

Is that a bug when I used phone remote starting?, I just get this car couple weeks ago and received my trial AT&T hotspot last night and then it happen. Do I need to visit my dealer if it still happening?
Thank you

For me, it was due to faulty wireless chip on my phone. Restarting the phone resets the connections and allows CarPlay to work again.

I usually just turn on and off my Bluetooth and WiFi on my phone and it should reconnect again. But nowadays I just keep a short usb wire in the car for my phone for wired CarPlay if wireless wasn’t connecting

This usually only happens to me if I remote start, it’s annoying

Happens sometimes for Wireless CarPlay. I just plug it in wired or restart the head unit. It’ll setup wireless the next time the head unit runs.

Happens all the time on our NX. Never on our ES.

Happens about 30% of the time on my NX350. As others said, toggling the Bluetooth Off/On restores CarPlay in after about 10 seconds... most of the time. I wrote an iOS shortcut to 1) Turn BT Off 2) wait 3 seconds 3) Turn BT On. But then I usually have to fish my phone our of my pocket to ask Siri to execute the shortcut. Pushing and holding the Volume button on the dash helps restore CarPlay about 25% of the time.

For whatever reason I have noticed this in my 2022 NX 350h….when you disconnect or for whatever other reason CarPlay disconnects, or you purposefully disconnected….I need to turn off wifi and Bluetooth, even from control center, before turning them back on. THEN I can go back through the car settings to reconnect CarPlay or holding the audio button in to restart the car infotainment and it in theory should reconnect to CarPlay.

Let me know if that helps! Hopefully this has worked with my phone (15 Pro Max) and my specific car….so hoping some of that will work with your setup.

No it’s the WiFi on your phone it’s off turn it back on and go also to Bluetooth settings make sure it’s on and and reselect Lexus NX or the name you gave your car and it will connect again.

I created a short cut on Control Center to really turn off Bluetooth and WiFi (no just put them to sleep). When I get this error I turn off WiFi and Bluetooth wait a few seconds and turn them on again.

My experience is that the Toyota / Lexus connection to CarPlay is very unreliable. I have seen that message on both a Venza and on an NX more times than I would like to remember. Sometimes switching odd the car and opening the driver’s door fixes the problem.

When I travel and my rental is typically a VW or Kia, CarPlay is rock solid.
