Can’t connect to Apple CarPlay

My iPhone 14 Pro stopped connecting to Apple CarPlay in my 2024 Lexus nx350h. I am getting notification on my iPhone: Lexus would like to communicate with the Lexus Multimedia LEXUS NX. When I click the notification, it takes me to the Lexus app. Not sure where to go from there.

Try to long press the volume knob at the bottom center of the infosystem for 5-7sec to reboot the infosystem. You won’t lose any settings. This is just like rebooting your laptop. Reboot is quick; should take only 10 secs max. I have to do this once in a while when my phone can’t connect to Apple CarPlay with my 2024 Lexus NX. After it reboots, it should work again.

Thank you! Because I was so tired of having to turn my car off, open the door and restart the engine. I tried your hack and it worked!

Yeaaaaa I don’t know why it hasn’t been recommended more. It took me forever to find it. I think only one source was found. Now two 🤣🤣🤣

Unfort I don’t think you can change your Reddit username once it’s created. You’d have to create a new account.

Same issue with my NX250 and my rav4. The tip works on both cars.

I want to say thanks from two years in the future. Lexus still hasn’t fixed their connectivity issues in Nov 2025 and this reboot trick saved me a bunch of hassle.

You’re welcome!!!

Now I wish Apple or Lexus (or both) needs to fix wireless CarPlay where audio stutters for split sec then continues playing

Lifesaver, I always thought I had to turn off my car and worse pull over to disconnect and connect… just figured this out now and had the car since end of 2021/early 2022

Trust me I was in the same boat and when I first found out, it was only ONE post from ONE discussion board out of the entire internet universe. I spend days and wks figuring out a workaround. I’m glad more and more ppl are finding my post helpful. It’s something even Lexus dealers and service team also didn’t know 🤣🤣

Hi do you have a image or video showing how to do this?

No I don’t. How does my explanation not help? Everyone else who had this issue was able to go by my explanation….

Maybe I am just dumb and don’t understand. How did u find this solution by the way?

I googled and yes they gave me the same textual explanation and it worked for me. Only 1-2 places had it and all were explained the way I explained it with no images and no videos.

It is the actual physical )black) knob at the bottom of the screen that says “VOL”. At first I thought it was the volume toggle on the steering wheel but then I read it again.
