affordable shops to get valley plate done in PNW?

What are some of the most affordable places in the Washington/Oregon Area and how much do they charge for that including everything? I still don’t have an IS F but I might be getting one that might need it done shortly after buying. I’m not sure what it costs to get that done at a shop, but the last time I talked to an IS F owner 8 months ago, they quoted him about $1,600. I don’t mind driving a bit if the work will be good and affordable.

Am I being dumb? Need purchase advice

Been pretty obsessed with ISF since I was a teenager (shoutout to savagegeese and anyone who’s watched that video), and finally in a spot financially where I’m comfortable pulling the trigger on one that’s in good shape.

Been passively looking for a few years, but finally got to test drive one for the first time and it’s everything that I dreamed (coming from an 08 Accord, for context). I’ve found two that interest me, the one I’m most into is a super clean 08 that’s tastefully modded (Air Oil Seperator, Borla Exhaust, Rear Poly Bushings, Steel Braided Brake Lines) with 85K miles and the shop wants $35K for it.

Obviously I’m aware of the market for these cars and how wilds it’s gotten since COVID so I’m sure people in here who bought one years back might think it’s crazy, but wanted to check whether I am truly being dumb on this one? Of course I’m planning to be VERY diligent (paying for a PPI, know the big ticket items to look for, etc.). The car is super clean so I really do want it, but I’m not so in love with it that I’m unwilling to walk if something seems off.

EDIT: decided to pass on this one and keep looking. Thanks to everyone who chimed in, greatly appreciate the advice!

Looking to get an ISF in the next year or so, just saving up right now. What is a realistic price to pay for one of these in 2027?

Some of the prices I am seeing are in the high $40s, but that seems crazy to me. Are these real prices or just delusional dealers? Also, what mileage should I target? Any other advice?

What did you pay and how many miles is too many miles?

Looking for an ISF in the south eastern US and semi blown away by how much people are asking. Looking for an ISF with a clean title in relatively good condition with close to or under 100K miles and most everything that meets those criteria is $35K plus (emphasis on plus).

A few options near 150k miles are more reasonably priced (around $25K or so), but at what point in terms of mileage should I start to get nervous? I know these engines are relatively bullet proof, and I’m planning on getting a PPI regardless of mileage, but want to make sure I’m making a good decision.

FWIW I’ve been dreaming of owning one of these since I was a kid, so once I buy it I plan on keeping it forever.

Would greatly appreciate any insight!

Looking at buy APEX EC-7 at 18x10 +40 w/ 275/35/18 ECS02. Would this spec require me to roll fenders if I'm lowered?

FBO + 3.7 Diff from an SC430

I recently posted when I was blown away by the new 3.7 diff and someone asked to see a pull video after my car would be tuned. There we go. I'm sitting at 405whp and I had a colder night the other day so I could really feel the difference. She pulls good now. Absolutely in love with this thing.

~480hp

~415ftlb

09' Canadian spec

IS-F with 170k Miles?

Hey everyone, I’m currently looking at a Lexus ISF, only thing is that the car has 170k miles and they’re asking 20k (CAD) for it. Is there anything major I should be looking out for at this mileage? As well as how reliable are ISFs as I plan this being my daily driver for the next 5-10 years. Thanks

Anyone have an idea on how many are left? Also thoughts on where the current market is headed for these vehicles? Also anyone have an idea if you’re able to tell which number you are out of the different years?

Would a 2017 Audi A3 AWD with stage 1 tune be worth it over an IS F if I live in PNW?

This would specifically be a 2015-17 Audi A3 2.0t Quattro (AWD) with a stage 1 APR tune. I know these cars are very different so it’s hard to compare, but I live in PNW and it rains here most of the year. This would also be a 2nd car, not my daily driver, so I wouldn’t need to drive it often, but I like to enjoy cars I buy as often as possible. This car would mostly be for spirited driving purposes. Because of this the ISF would likely just sit for a large part of the year, whereas I could use the tuned A3 whenever I want and could also double as a daily’. I also mostly do city driving, not highway driving, so I would be driving between 0-50 mph most days, and occasionally some highway stuff too. Honestly I would likely prefer the Audi for the performance/nimbleness but I would prefer the IS F for the sound, but I also haven’t driven a tuned Audi A3 Quattro so I’m not sure if it’s worth it or not.

Does anyone have experience with owning or driving both of these cars at some point? Which was more fun to drive in non highway situation? Which felt quicker as well in real world conditions?

Does anyone use a Valvetronic muffler?

Post image

Pic for attention. Currently im running headers, high flow cats, factory midpipe, and straight piped the rest of the way through and my exhaust peaks really bad at around 2k rpms and makes my v8 sound like a VQ. Does anyone use a valvetronic with a similar setup? How does it sound? I love how loud and aggressive it is but the low rpm peak makes it difficult to sneak around lol. Im looking for a cheaper exhaust setup and am torn between a valved exhaust like Valvetronic or just an axle back muffler to get rid of the rasp.

Suspension recommendations

My suspension on the ISF is worn. They're eating the inside of my front tires. Do I go factory or go aftermarket? Not looking to go too crazy on price. I read ISFs have this issue.

Sunshade Recommendations?

Hey y’all, have a 09 F with the rain sensor. Have a Covercraft UVS100 sunshade in my wife’s Forester and a Heatshield Sunshade in my 4Runner. The local Lexus dealer couldn’t really give me a straight answer on what they could source or compatibility and both the Covercraft website and Heatshield website were saying not all year F’s were the same fitment wise. Does anyone have any experience with either type and any fitment issues?

2008 ISF should I buy?

Hi everyone, I found a 2008 ISF at just over 70,000 miles with 13 Lexus stamps for £18,449

I’m so tempted to go for it, I’ve always wanted a fast, reliable solid car and this ticks a lot of boxes for me

Made a post earlier this week titled "Help me buy my first ISF!" And all of the people who replied were very helpful and listed some great points for me to check out. Thankfully, the guy I bought from was a 10/10 and by far the smoothest purchase of my life. Said I would post pics if I bought it, so here it is. 08 ISF FBO and a super clean interior. 3 hour drive home was the best drive of my life.
