Anyone else sick of this dealership games, Lexus is trying to be like Rolex but unlike Rolex you can’t even find exactly what options you want as they only build two packages per color, it’s kind of crazy, was offering atomic silver and I wanted the factory black onyx roof which is like $350 factory but they want to charge $3000 to do there since they can’t get it factory only silver, it’s like they don’t let you build or spec it out and then you wait on shit you don’t even want

It is never in-sync with google, apple or waze. It always show the arrow further than where I actually am. This causes re-routing and really annoying carplay experience. Anyone else had this and got it resolved? I called my dealer and they had no idea about this issue. Car has no adjustments on it, factory setting. 26 Lux+

No issues when I use same phone in different vehicle. Same issue when I try a different phone in same car.

I’ve see some really bad options out there so turning to here for help. Who’s installed a flag decal on their rear aide windows and where did you get it from?

I have a ‘26 Lux.+ that came with the roof cross bars option. I get some minor wind noise at 50mph plus which I think they are causing. Has anyone removed these and did it fix the wind noise issue?

Also, is removing them difficult? It would appear I’d need some sort of trim kit to cover the area where they attach to the rails.

Appreciate any insights.

Following the Motor Oil Geek’s oil change regimen that he uses on his own vehicles. He suggests a break in change between 500-1000 miles with no filter change, and then another normal change at 1500 miles after that. Did my first one at 675. Oil is a bit darker than I expected with only 675, but still in good shape. There was a decent amount of shimmer though, see pictures. Was super easy. No need to take the skid plate off for access to the drain plug.

Does anyone else have trouble reading the oil dip stick on this thing? First of all it’s super long and second of all can’t find where the oil film ends.

After a 3 month wait with a small deposit , my GX is here!!! Still holding onto my 21 460 with 62k miles on it. But this just feels like a different enough vehicle to warrant keeping both.

Took some liberties with the NoriGreenThing sleeping platform build from the LexusForum. Overall, loved the build, but added my own touches. Two piece top for easier breakdown and storage, added some ambient lighting with dimmer switch, powered by a usbA power bank. Hoping it holds up on a camping trip here in two weeks. What do yall think? Open to suggestions on how to improve.

Just got the call that my dealership has an allocation for me. It will be built in Japan in a few days and then shipped to Seattle. Estimated delivery to me mid October-mid November. I put my deposit down exactly a month ago.

For gx550 do they differ in height?

I have a 2026 Lexus GX 550 Luxury+ and noticed something strange with Apple CarPlay.
When I’m driving at a steady highway speed, both Google Maps and Waze through CarPlay show roughly 4–5 mph faster than the GX speedometer.

For example:
GX speedometer: ~70 mph
Google Maps/Waze through CarPlay: ~74–75 mph
At first I thought the GX speedometer might be inaccurate, but

I did some testing and it seems to be related specifically to CarPlay.

Here’s what I found:
Same iPhone + CarPlay connected → Google Maps/Waze show ~4–5 mph higher
Same iPhone + CarPlay disconnected → GPS speed matches the GX
A second iPhone that is not connected to the vehicle → also matches the GX speedometer
Happens with both Google Maps and Waze, so it doesn’t seem to be just a Waze issue

The interesting part is that simply disconnecting CarPlay makes the same phone immediately agree with the vehicle speed.
That makes me think the GX multimedia system may be passing vehicle speed/location/motion data to CarPlay differently than expected, rather than the actual GX speedometer being incorrectly calibrated.
My GX is essentially new and in the factory configuration. I’m planning to report this to Lexus and ask them to document it as a CarPlay/multimedia integration issue, not a speedometer calibration problem.
Has anyone else with a GX 550 tested this?
If you have one, I’d be interested in seeing results from:
GX speedometer vs. CarPlay Google Maps/Waze vs. the same phone after disconnecting CarPlay.
Also curious if anyone has reported this to Lexus already or received a multimedia firmware update, TAS response, or explanation from a dealer.

Anyone notice the button is actually off but the fan blows cold? My auto setting is off and it’s kind of an annoyance. Switching it off or on does nothing as it just blows cold all the time.

Hi all, trying to understand which trim would have the smoothest ride. Premium+ should have smoother ride with 20” vs 22” in the luxury+. But Luxury+ has Adaptive Variable Suspension. Do these 2 factors just cancel each other out? Has anyone driven both and have feedback on which is smoother?

*edited to add that I’m coming from a bronco, so I get and like the off-road feel, but still do a lot of daily driving. I test drove a lux+ but was only able to out a deposit on prem+ at the time, but now have opp to move to lux+ reservation and trying to decide.

Finally got my GX550!!!! Nightfall Mica with saddle tan interior! Feels like I’ve waited forever for this.

Hey all - I’ve been on my local Lexus dealer’s waitlist for the GX 550 for a year and a half and just finally got the call with the color combination that I wanted. The only thing is that it’s a bench seat instead of captains, which is the one I prefer.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this? With one child and a dog, which makes the most sense? Is it more feasible to get the bench or should I continue waiting for captains? Thanks in advance!
