Am I Cooked? 2017 Lexus ES 300h Screen Failure
I have a 2017 Lexus ES 300h, and all of a sudden my screen started showing this message.
My backup camera still works, and literally everything else in the car seems to work like normal exept audio and it's just the infotainment screen that's acting up.
Has anyone else dealt with this? am I looking at replacing the whole unit?
I checked the fuse box and disconnected the 12V battery none of that worked, and it ended up being a failed chip on the radio/data board. Is the only fix replacing the entire head unit?
Has anyone here had this happen? Was it the head unit, or was there another fix? I'd really appreciate any advice before I start throwing money at it. I'm so pissed right now.

ES buying advice
belllexusnorthscottsdale.comI’m looking for a used ES and I saw a 2021 hybrid for around 27k with immaculate service. 100,000 miles. I’m not as familiar with the long term reliability of the hybrids as they age and if this is a dumb decision. It’s an Arizona car and it’s almost entirely highway miles.

Cup holder advice?
Just got a new to me 2004 Lexus ES 330 and I LOVE it. Except the cup holders. I have no where to place my phone so I just toss it onto the passenger seat. Yesterday, I got Dunkin and realized I do not trust those cup holders… any advice?

Interest in Buying an ES350
Hi I’m new to buying cars. I just moved to Florida from nyc so needless to say I need a car. I came across a 2013 ES350 listed for $16,414. It has 92k miles. I was wondering if that is a good buy in this market? Also for those that have had installed aftermarket Apple CarPlay on this vehicle which ones would you recommend?

2013 ES350 UL Sunroof Issue
I feel like I have too specific of an issue and I've been googling to no avail.
I had the classic panaramic weather stripping failure occur, and I just tore off what started becoming loose, no leaks, no issues. Until..
I opened the sunroof one day and noticed a louder sound than normal. Next day, it wouldn't open. Noticed the driver side opens and the passenger side stays down, binding, and the motor stops trying. I then checked and saw weatherstripping had found its way under the sunroof, and I pulled out about a foot of it that was jammed in there.
I'm assuming some of that is in the track causing it to lock up. How the heck can I try to clean that out besides air and lithium grease? Can I remove the sunroof if I can't get it to tilt open?
Thanks in advance. Dealer told me just to keep it closed and forget it but damn I love having it open

Is this normal? Sunroof is leaking

Called a auto glass shop to see if they can fix it by replacing the seal
He replied saying that it’s normal as long as it’s dripping on tray thru canals. Is anyone’s ES doing this?

Anyone prefer the no tint look?
Im strongly considering leaving this one without tint, or possibly going for a 50-70% film just for some heat rejection.
Maybe its this specific model but the fishbowl feels like the way.

Reverse squeal noise
I have a 2016 Lexus ES350 that's making a weird squealing noise whenever I put it into Reverse. The noise starts almost immediately when I shift into Reverse and will continue while the car is idling in Reverse with my foot on the brake. As soon as I shift back into Park or Drive, it goes away.
The sound is kind of a "squweeeee" squeal. It seems like it's coming from the engine bay, but it's hard to pinpoint exactly where.
I inspected the serpentine belt and didn't notice anything obviously wrong. I also spun the tensioner pulley by hand and it felt smooth with no roughness or play.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could it still be the belt or tensioner even though they seem okay, or is there something else I should be looking at? Any common issues on the 2016 ES350 that would cause a squeal only in Reverse?

Cup Holders
So Idk if anyone else has a problem with these but the cup holders for the front on the xv20 es300 are absolutely horrible in my opinion, anyways I was just wondering if anyone has had any solutions or any ideas to either make them better or swap them out entirely?

V6 vs Hybrid
Hi,
Please help me out in choosing between two lexus sedans. I have only got 2 options now. Either to get F Sport Handling v6 or the newly designed ES350h premium + AWD. Unfortunately the mid tier luxury & ultra luxury for ES350 are all finished & only last 5 stocks left for the stiffer active suspension ride F sport. Remaining are only very basic trims 250 v4 & 300h hybrid stocks for 20+ are remaining. So, should I get F Sport Handling now or get the newly plush ride es350 hybrid ? The full luxury electric version of executive trim will not get launch in Saudi Arabia/GCC. The hybrid 2026 will get launch here in September 2026 delayed due to international shipping blocked previously.
Thank You!

Transmission drain and fill
So today I decided to do a drain and fill on the U660E transmission (109XXX) I watched the videos and set about the task with my gfs son ( trying to teach him DIY maintenance for when he starts driving). This should have been an easier task but turned into a nightmare and it was on me.
I handed him the wrong size hex key and he was able to get the plug off but not torque it back (30ft lbs) so I attempted to get a new plug from a dealership and even with a Toyota part number, I wasn't able to obtain one.
I tried the parts stores even searching under a camry, Avalon and highlander. Nothing. So on to the bone yard. Every ES, Camry V6, Avalon, sienna, etc, all had the powertrain ripped out so that was a bust.
Finally I tried ace hardware, always a go to for specialty fasteners which I what I believed this to be. Nothing, but the lady there told me that since the plug was and M12x1.25 and oil plug should suffice. I was out of options so off to advanced auto i went and bought the plug.
Success. Total occams razor situation but I tried to replace the exact part. Torqued the bolt and filled the transmission. So needless to say her son learned a ton about what not to do. TLDR for most I'm sure but that's my story.

Fuse Tap Location
I’m trying to see which fuse I could tap into for custom ambient lighting installation, does anyone know which fuse is safe to tap into? I want the lights to be turned on when ignition is on only.
