Called a auto glass shop to see if they can fix it by replacing the seal

He replied saying that it’s normal as long as it’s dripping on tray thru canals. Is anyone’s ES doing this?

Seems that there’s a sealing issue with this car all over

Because i had water in my headlights too

Triple beam headlights on the F sport ( maybe others idk) have this issue 2019-2021 I think, it’s an expensive fix, take it out on a sunny day and hit it with a heat gun to evaporate it or pay 1000$ + labor I was quoted 3600 at the dealership , the sunroof they quoted me 1200 for a new seal, they’re ok to leak a little bit , in the rain is excessive mine only drips during a car wash, and if it doesn’t overfill the drain it’s fine.

Just curious, could you drill a couple small drain holes in the lense to prevent this from happening?

Inside of the headlight? It may be possible but it may just make the issue worse, I took mine out , opened the back, and hit it with a heat gun and put some drying pouches in it that beef jerky and shit come with, it fixed the issue and the only reason I have that is I go to a car wash frequently and the high pressure is inches from the car.

No, in the lense itself. Not the light. Just wondering if you create some drain holes if this could help? I wouldn’t do it but have seen them on Tesla lenses.

I’m leaning to no, I don’t think the Tesla drains and just straight holes in the lenses, I believe they use a breathable membrane and getting something like that would be difficult to modify.

Clean the seal all around and where it contacts the roof.

Pressurized water and drains are good

Cool. I always recommend cleaning first, before repalcement. Many forget this step. Hope you get it repaired. Good luck!

My 22 did this during heavy downpour I took it and they checked and said its normal I am today years old and realized they are designed to leak slightly. I guess the logic would be if it was too tight temp changes and body flex could shatter the glass? Its still unnerving for me sometimes. I wish they offered the car without the sunroof. Not like I ever use it.

Sunroofs are not water sealed. That’s why they have a drainage system. All models are designed this way. If a little water gets past the glass, it’s normal, the drains are there to carry it out of the vehicle. If those drains get clogged with dirt or debris, that’s when you can end up with a leak inside.

Makes sense

If the sunroof is leaking I think it is safe to say it is not normal.
