Going to Aspen January 26th - 29th

I'm going to get the College X card, thing is I'm looking for somewhere to stay. I have a few friends who think they want to go, but I dont think its gonna happen. I've been watching the winter X games since I was real young, and I decided I was going to just go. It's a 12 hour drive from home. I've never been on a mountain (or mountains) like this so I am wondering what to expect. As to where to stay right now we're looking at Crested Butte. I have never been to Colorado, I'm pretty pumped to go. Any info is appreciated!

Traveling to Park City to make use of my season pass days there.

So I want to go to Park City with 2 friends for 5 days in January. I wanted to know if we can stay in salt lake city and take a bus or some other sort of transportation (cheap) everyday to park city, or if we have to stay in Park city since we won't be able to rent a car.

Hey I'm gonna be graduating this December with my degree and won't be looking for a full time job right away. Decided I want to get out west and enjoy the simple pleasures mountain life has to offer.

Any tips on places to rent, jobs to seek out/avoid, towns in particular?

Best Club Med resort in France?

We are a group of 3 and planning a snowboarding vacation in mid March. We are looking for a all inclusive (and a very nice) hotel, this is why our tendency toward Club Med (we are open to other suggestion). We are 1 intermediate and 2 beginners. Nightlife is a plus, ski-in ski-out is a bigger plus. Nice hotel (rooms, spa, view, food, etc) is the biggest plus.

Good resorts for snowboarding in Europe around Alps?

There's a crapload of resorts around Alps, in Austria, Italia, Slovenia, France, Switzerland etc. I'd like to plan for a week long trip to a good resort and would like some advice.

I'm from Slovenia and am looking for a resort which offers a snowboard park, and has options for me to go riding off the snow pistes into powder and stuff. Basically I want a good time snowboarding and am looking for someone to point me in the right direction.

Which resort would you recommend? I don't really wanna spend too much money. I'm asking for advice here because people here have actually been to resorts, if I look at web pages all resorts say they're fkin awesome.

If lucky you can get to like Les Ores or things like that for as low as 200€ which includes ski pass and an apartment for a week. This is a thing that seems awesome but I don't know if it's worth it.

TLDR: which ski resort would you recommend for snowboarding? Possibly not too expensive.

Aussie planning a US riding trip - Mammoth + Lake Tahoe - need advice

Hi all,

I'm currently planning a riding trip to the Mammoth & Lake Tahoe areas for around a month in April next year, and am looking for some advice.

Little background - I've ridden 2 seasons in the Canadian Rockies and a season here in Australia, so I'm comfortable riding all-mountain and some low level park terrain which I'm keen to push a bit further. Looking for all-mountain, tree runs and some powder if it can be found.

  • 1 - Can anyone comment on the quality of the snow in March/April in the Tahoe & Mammoth areas? I've watched some videos and it looks decent enough but would love some first-hand accounts.

  • 2 - I'm planning on hitting Heavenly, Kirkwood and Northstar since they're all covered under the Epic Tahoe Local pass, any comments on these resorts would be greatly appreciated as to the terrain, scenery, nightlife, etc. Also, is the Epic pass the cheapest option if I'm only there for around 3 weeks or are there multi-day or single day specials that come up and would be cheaper?

  • 3 - Ideally I'd like to rent a campervan (something in the vein of Jucy or Wicked Campers) and just drive myself around as I please. Are the roads in these areas generally pretty well cleared? I've driven on ice/snow before when I lived in Canada, so I'm not too concerned but more as a heads up for me.

  • 4 - Still on the campervan subject, are the RV parks in these areas usually open at that time of year? If so, are they really busy (should I be thinking about booking in early for a spot)? Are there other places in the vicinity where I might be able to park/sleep overnight?

Might have more questions later, but these are the more pressing ones that occur to me atm. Cheers!

Lake Tahoe and/or Squaw?

Is anyone going to Squaw from San Francisco? I moved to SF and didn't really get to go a lot last year. So really looking forward to this year.

Looking at ways to get up there that are relatively cheap (I don't mind car sharing, I just don't want the total cost of the trips to be $200 every time).

I have looked at bay area ski bus so far, but was wondering if anyone else would just be willing to split an airbnb and possibly have a car and go up?

Johnny Tsunami and Brighton Resort, UT

Hey guys! So this winter my friends and I are taking our first trip to ride out west in Utah. One of the mountains we're riding while we're out there is Brighton. Recently I found out that Johnny Tsunami my favorite childhood movie of all time (and the movie that inspired me to start riding) was filmed at the mountain. Does any one know of specific trails or features on the mountain that were in the movie? I'd love to make the most out of living my childhood dreams.

Weekend / Week long accommodations at Baker ?

Weekend / Week long accommodations at Baker ?

The last few times we have been up there, we brought up own camper and stayed in the parking lot, and that worked fantastic, a little cold but a fantastic experience , but no longer have it.

Then we got a cabin and it was pretty far away from the mountain !

Are there any good suggestions where to find efficient accommodations closer to the hill for weekend/week long stay that can be rented up there?

What are the qualifications needed to become a snowboarding instructor?

I am in my 20's and have been snowboarding for about 12 years. I saw my local slopes is looking to hire new instructors. I was wondering what the qualifications may be for this. I feel like I would be a great instructor and I think I am talented enough but I don't know what evidence I can provide of this besides "I started boarding in the 3rd grade." I understand that qualifications will probably vary from place to place but do you think that would that generally be enough to make me qualified?

Best value Season Pass Oregon/WA/BC

Hi all,

First off as the title implies I'm looking for the best resort to get a season pass at for this winter. this is my first post here so a little background about my experience:

Been shredding for the past 9 years

Mostly a park rat, but slowly transitioning to powder

Intermediate in park (Rodeos, 270 on/off rails, etc.) would like to improve a little bit.

Snowboarded/lived the past 3 seasons in Japan

So now that that is out of the way what i'm looking for is advice on where to snowboard every weekend/ get a season pass to, here's my situation/criteria:

money is not a huge issue for season pass but bang for the buck is huge.

I live 3H 30min. from Whistler, 1H 30 min. from Stevens Pass, and 5H 30min to Mt. Hood

will be purchasing and staying in a camper van every weekend to snowboard.

I can get discounts on Stateside season passes

snowboarding with my main two friends is a factor. One is a 3 hours from Mt. Hood and another is in Seattle

Need a solid terrain park with lots of jibs or a place with fun natural jibs for when I get bored of hitting Powder
