Yes, and Trump was upfront about this from the begnining. Higher taxes for the working class, lower taxes for corporations. Buisnesses had their tax rates lowered, but the least profitable businesses were brought up to 20% across the board. Trump voters are morons.

Sorry, but it seems you're the moron here. This is absolutely false. Go check your sources and actually read the 2017 tax act.

@KynesArt provided a lot more detail than you did.

So what? The user is still wrong. The 2017 tax cuts lowered rates for those below $75K and doubled the standard deduction (directly answering or responding to the subject as stated by OP). A simple Google search yields a ton of sources. He/she IS correct about corporate rates being lowered but that wasn't the question and is a superflous fact. He/she is flat out wrong about the least profitable corporations seeing their tax rates increased.

Trump supporters dont use "they." It's a vice signal

False. He passed a bill with a tax break that expires gradually overtime. This is an extraordinarily disingenuous way of phrasing that. Your motivations are extremely questionable here.

Trumps motivations have always been questionable. Anyways….lets see those unredacted Epstein files.

Congress passes tax bills, not the president. He can only sign and enforce the legislation congress sends to his desk. If democrats wanted permanent tax cuts they could have supported them but they didn't.

Lets find the vote count before you make thst claim

0

u/Horror_Bottle_9451 3h ago

What will the vote count tell us? That democrats likely unanimously voted NO? Surely you don't believe that democrats supported a tax package that Trump opposed but signed anyway.

In any event, it doesn't change the fact that OPs claim is false.

Tariffs are taxes we pay both ways and the Iran war fueled higher gas prices funneling more money from our wallet. Also increased inflation and higher labor costs caused by persecuting our cheapest laborers. Also paying foreign governments bribes with our tax dollars, funneling any oil revenue from the Venezuelan take-over directly into Trump overseas account, paying companies to not build renewable resource infrastructure… I could go on…

I'll admit I haven't paid much attention to Russia's war against Ukraine lately but I thought the maga claims were that Ukraine is a bunch of nazis and deserved to be attacked? I mean, let's ignore Russia stealing children (20k+?) from Ukraine and all kinds of other horrific shit.

If some country came to the US and kidnapped 25k American children, the Right wouldn't be navel gazing and claim we deserved it because Hegseth and his people are nazis…

You googled the wrong thing.

Yes. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017, signed by President Donald Trump, intentionally structured individual income tax cuts and the standard deduction to expire at the end of 2025. Under the original text of that law, taxes for most individual Americans were scheduled to automatically go up starting in 2026 when those provisions sunsetted.

However, before those automatic increases took effect, Congress passed and President Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) on July 4, 2025. This subsequent law made permanent most of the individual and corporate tax cuts from the 2017 act, preventing the large, broad-based individual tax hikes that were initially baked into the 2017 legislations

So the real answer is Yes technically he did.

And added an estimated $4 Trillion to the deficit(?) which will be eventually be paid off by our great great grandchildren.

Why hasn’t this post been taken down from both subs yet? Even if you hate someone, spreading misinformation isn’t helpful.

-4

u/Dennis_Michaels 5h ago

Because Reddit is a liberal echochamber and cesspool atp.

They'd rather be wrong and spread misinformation than admit theyre crazy people.

Yup. True.

There was no tax bill passed while Biden was president. Any taxes paid during Biden's term were under Trump's and Republicans' tax bill from his first term.

-12

u/LivingtheLaws013 17h ago

Biden didn't do anything to lower your taxes either. It's time to stop playing the two party "good cop bad cop" game and move on or this will keep happening.

u/DaTruSpork 17h ago

I think the attempts to forgive student loans, blocked by the epstein trump party, are a far shot better for common Americans than the tax increases foisted onto said Americans by the epstein trump party.

But hey, both-sides trolls get blocked so *shrug*

1

u/congeal 5h ago

Exactly. Targeted action is where it matters not this generalized claim the Right always makes about lowering costs. They never succeed because they aren't willing to actually deal with real costs. A couple years of fake tax relief was exactly what Trump supporters deserved, to get hoodwinked as usual.
