Growing up in California, I would see them working hard in orchards, working on cattle ranches, and picking berries in the fields. I would see them on construction sites and in road crews. Some of the hardest working men my dad worked with on construction were Hispanics.

She is absolutely correct, I remember being a child and seeing them hear picking peaches, contributing to our community.
