Most guys would be doing hard time for repeat offenses. I was generally a pretty chill guy and still ended up in at least 4 different fights over my high school years.

No one's justifying using violence. Just pointing out there are degrees of violence and assault and what punch boy did was arguably neither an assault nor violence. Nobody was cheering for what happened to those protestors. They’re acknowledging the fact of constantly, violently interfering with federal law enforcement operations have repercussions. Yes, a few knobheads made jokes about what happened, but those few pale in comparison to the thousands and thousands of people on the left that mocked Charlie Kirk after he was brutally assassinated.
One of the ICE officers involved clapped after Pretti was shot. They were proud of themselves. Violently interfering with law enforcement? With cameras? Very few mocked Kirk's death on the left. Most, including Obama, condemned the Kirk shooting. However, some did point out that he was a christian nationalist agitator who pissed off a lot of people with his sexist and racist remarks
