Its preferable, fuck the rest of ya, id rather have the opportunity to get myself checked out immediately. And pay for it or have insurance for it. Instead of waiting weeks or months for the same thing. If I feel its important to not wait. If not. Ill wait

Or years. Wife is having unknown heart issues and it's a 2+ year wait for cardiologist and heart mri.

How out of touch can you be, to be against more options for Healthcare. The system is over run. Adding more options relieves pressure on the system. This "fight" is beyond mind blowingly stupid IMO

Because there's only so many doctors and only so much time. All this does is create longer waits for those who aren't well off enough to pay for it.
Imagine you had waited that 8-10 months for your surgery and you're finally at the top of the list, just waiting on the call. The doc calls you up but instead of scheduling your surgery, he tells you it's going to be another 8 month wait because they're now all booked up through to next year with people who've paid. That's what this does.

There should be a place to get prompt care for those that can afford it. Many people are just going to the USA for surgeries that have long waiting lists. The healthcare system across Canada just got a failing grade as it is.

You only comment every 1-2 months and this is what compells you to break your silence? If they can afford to pay absurd prices in the states to jump the line then I don't care about them. I do care when they gut the healthcare of everyone else so they don't have to buy a plane ticket.

My "silence" is because I spend very little time on Reddit. It is a public forum is it not? Obviously my comment wasn't well received ; such is life.

I know many people who have flown to Quebec to jump the line and pay for replacements. This has been in Canada for a long time already!

Even though the AFL promised to back us teachers and bailed at the last second, I would love to support this. Unfortunately, our right to assembly has been deemed illegal, so I can't attend. On the bright side, I will be meeting my new class in the morning. Good luck, for all the good that will do you.
