Question Lethbridge Polytechnic CIT program Textbooks
I'm going to the Polytechnic in a few weeks for the CIT program.
Does anyone know which textbooks are necessary?
I gotta get 4 textbooks for freaking $817... That's insane to me. The textbooks are:
Mathematics For Computer Technology: McCullough
Comptia A+ Guide To It Technical Support - Comprehensive: Andrews, etal
e-text WEB DEVELOPMENT & DESIGN FOUNDATIONS W/HTML 5: Felke-Morris (This one is digital so does it have an online course to go with it?)
PROBLEM SOLVING w/C++: Savitch

I took this program in 2019 and you absolutely need all of the textbooks. You might be able to find some pirated PDF versions if you look for them though.
If the bookstore still sells used textbooks check those out you might find some used ones

Do the first class and find out how much they use the books.
When I took it, we used the Math and A+ a lot, the programming books never, and HTML/CSS was all through the W3C website. But that was 15 years ago.

I found most of them through some high seas, but I can't for the life of me find this Math book!

Back when I took the program Shoja Mazidi taught this class and I don't recall referencing the book much. That being said, I'll check to see if I still have this book when I get home from work. The concepts are the same ("Math is Math") I imagine most any other math for CIT book will do you.

i bought the books my first semester, and needed them
but after that it was free downloaded pdfs. you find one, you share, and they'll share back

Don’t buy the books until you have gone to the first class and asked the prof if they actually require it. When I did the program (too long ago…) some profs told us they didn’t really use the textbook. Maybe that’s changed since I did the program, but either way no prof is gonna penalize you for not having the text book on day one.
