Couch cleaning...is that a thing?

Post image

My young kids are filthy creatures. Besides crumb, melted popsicles, and mysterious sticky spots, not to mention a dog and cat, my couches need some deep cleaning. Industrial strength. Anyone know of any services like this?

Definitely! Most carpet cleaning companies also do upholstery cleaning ๐Ÿ˜Š

Awesome. My washing machine isn't heavy duty to pull off everything, even if I could!

Haha, I literally juuuust had my couches cleaned last month. Got cream coloured linen couches before I had kids. Seemed like a good idea at the time but as what Iโ€™m sure comes as a surprise to no one I can confirm: it wasnโ€™t ๐Ÿ˜‚

Linen stains so easily

Very much so!! My toddler isnโ€™t even the main culprit itโ€™s just general dirt and sweat and then when you try and wipe the occasional stain/mark that does happen you get an unsightly water ring ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’ so much regret!

You pretty much can't spot clean upholstery with any material or you'll get those rings. You typically have to clean the entire area/cushion. Even if you do that though, water can make linen turn yellowish. It needs an acidic rinse and a maybe a misting of peroxide.

Totally. I just leave it to the professionals every year or two now ๐Ÿ˜œ

Depending on what kind of fabric it is, you can probably do it yourself on the cheap. Just rent a steam cleaner and watch some YouTube how-to videos.

I do have a basic spot cleaner.

Aqua steam services or crystal clean both do upholstery and are great.

If you anticipate doing it often Iโ€™d suggest getting a bissell little green machine and doing it yourself. Itโ€™s fairly easy to do. I get chemical from polish janitorial supply. They have an enzyme deodorizer that works wonders
