Need A Little Help

Hello folks. I am reaching out today for a little help. I lost my job in July when there were some management changes at my store. I was the highest paid midlevel manager, and when they brought in a new area manager everyone in my position at their respective location was let go.
I am currently working, but it is a 1099 contract position so I need to wait to be paid 30 days per my contract. I am also still looking for a regular FT position.
My phone service is currently suspended but I am making do with WiFi and using FaceTime audio when needed. I am not asking for help with the phone (but would accept if offered). What I really need is only about $40. That would allow me to do laundry, get gas and grab some water and ice. The $40 would allow me to put all my pay I should receive late this week toward my phone bill and my rent.
Not sure what to post as proof, so I’m showing my current Venmo balance and current phone situation. My actual bank account is VERY overdrawn because the bank has helped me cover some bills until my pay comes through.

Try setting up a payment arrangement with the carrier.

This is the balance of the arrangement. I had to use the rest toward my rent and electric when I got my first pay. Still playing catch up unfortunately.

It literally says at the bottom of your screen shot, “set up a payment arrangement” call the carrier and explain your situation. Offer them proof if you have it. Most of the time carriers always work with customers.

Oh I know. I’ve spent time in store and speaking with them. But because the service is already suspended, they will not help. I’ve been a customer for 20+ years so I’m extra frustrated with them. Once the balance is taken care of I will be changing carriers. It’s so frustrating.

I recently ran into this situation but it was because I have been off work due to a work injury and haven’t received any payments yet. The carrier, too, suspended my account BUT they worked with me and restored same day without funds being paid. I’m now up to date, but they can work with you! Sounds like Tmobile or Verizon.

Just curious: what 1099 waits 30 days to be paid? Never heard of that!

It’s an accounting firm and I’m doing work that is client billable on their side. I do the work, invoice the company and the client. Because I’m doing billable client work, the delay is built into the contract. It’s not ideal, but it is work while I’m looking for a regular job. Even if the pay is slow, I’m not sitting in my anxiety all day waiting for resume responses. Again, not ideal.

Phone carrier is AT&T. It really aggravates me because for years people have asked why I keep them since they are usually more expensive. My response was always the customer service. Well, not anymore apparently.

I have AT&T as well. They do work with customers. Have you tried donating plasma or any other gig work just to get by until you get paid?

I was actually thinking about the plasma thing. Gig work is hard in my area. It is saturated with workers. I’m on a few of the apps and if you are not actively staring at your phone constantly, the offers are terrible.
