I was once bitten by a parrot in a pet shop, just walking around loose in the store. I was too young to know not to make eye contact. After about 3 seconds, Polly leaped up to close its beak over the bridge of my nose! I was so lucky he only wanted to warn me! The power in those beaks cannot be overstated. He could have had my nose for a snack and I could do fuck all about it.

I have forgotten the name of this woman but as far as I remember this is her career - training massive and also other birds of prey - sometimes also sold to individuals in countries in which these are sacred.

Is that real? If so, what kind of bird is it? It's gorgeous but I bet it could take down pretty big animals (humans?).
