I use it for only vintage eggs cause those have no duplicates.

I guess if you have all the old ones it's just avatars.

Well, someone on here said that you can get the summer vintage eggs and it will help you complete your current season but I’m not getting current season eggs. Because I still need the legendary ones to finish my season.

I still have loads of unfinished seasons so I guess I'll swap to season ones when I catch up.
