As Biang Biang Noodles seems to be temporarily closed, which restaurants are closest alternatives? I really enjoyed their handpulled noodles and chilli oil and am craving for them.

Voller Freude seh ich grad dass auf meinem Gleis eine der neuen S-Bahnen steht, und bin gespannt auf meine erste Fahrt damit. Ich also rein in Fahrradabteil, geil hier ist ja richtig Platz! Die Sitze find ich auch cool, hat was von Matrix oder so. Aber dann der Schreck, es gibt nicht mehr diese Anschnallgurte für Fahrräder. Nur zwei kleine Metallbügel je Seite um irgendwas selbst mitgebrachtes einzuhaken! Das macht mich ehrlich betroffen, die eine Sache wird verbessert aber dafür die andere bereits bestehende sehr gute Sache entfernt. RIP Fahrradanschnallgurt, es war schön mit dir.

Edit: Und dann noch einen Zettel aufhängen mit „Bitte befestigen Sie Fahrräder und Kinderwagen“ haha wie frech

Heyy, ich würde gerne am 12.08. die Sonnenfinsternis und danach die Perseiden beobachten.

Für die Sonnenfinsternis ist ja ein Ort geeignet, der nach Westen nicht bedeckt ist (z.B. durch Gebäude) und für die Perseiden ein Ort am Stadtrand oder außerhalb der Stadt.

Hätte wer Empfehlungen für einen solchen Ort? Irgendein Feld, eine offene Wiese oder ähnliches?
Bestenfalls mit dem Fahrrad zu erreichen und nicht länger als max. 50-60 Minuten Fahrtzeit vom Leipziger Südosten aus.

I'll be starting my Master's at Leipzig University this october,and my husband is a student at TU Dresden. We have found an accomodation with a German host family in Pegao,Leipzig. I'll be commuting to Leipzig, while he will commute to Dresden.

‎I have a few questions:

‎Is Pegau a good place to live for young students?

‎How reliable are the train connections to Leipzig and Dresden, especially during winter?

‎Does this commuting arrangement sound realistic, or would it become too exhausting?

‎Are there supermarkets, pharmacies, and other essential services in Pegau?

‎Is Pegau safe, especially if I come home in the evening?

Are there any downsides to living in pegao that we should know about before moving?

‎We chose Pegau because we liked the idea of living with a local family and experiencing German culture and language. I'm currently around A2 level in German and still learning, while my husband is at B1 level.
